About this property

A superb end of terrace Victorian property situated in the popular little village of Llanbedr in the Snowdonia National Park, just three miles from Harlech. A beautifully styled interior blends traditional features with modern and contemporary, well-appointed décor throughout with neutral tones and an earthy fusion of autumnal shades and lovely co-ordinating fabrics. Angorfa really is a lovely property and a perfect base, absolutely ideal for a family, couples or friends. When entering you are immediately drawn to the sense of how spacious Angorfa is, very well proportioned with high ceilings and lots of natural light floods in through the bay windows in the two principle rooms. The upper floors are accessed via a wonderful pitch pine staircase where guests will find two stylish and well-appointed bedrooms, each with a TV, you'll also find a twin room and a room with adult size bunk beds, across the first and second floors, along with a spacious, modern family bathroom and a wonderful separate shower room with walk-in shower. Each is located on a split-level landing off each floor. A first floor sitting room is the ideal place to sit as a family or group and relax and unwind together after a great day out, and a warming electric woodburner-effect stove is great for those cooler evenings. The ground floor kitchen has an attractive redbrick inglenook fireplace which is a lovely feature and really compliments the modern fitted kitchen, which caters for all your needs. Double doors open to a spacious dining room with a large 8 seater dining table, great for family meals together, and the lovely bay window, plus another electric woodburner-effect stove finishes the room off nicely. Outside, there is a rear enclosed courtyard with table and chairs, you can enjoy alfresco dining or just relax with a chilled glass of wine in the evening when the courtyard enjoys a sunny aspect. The pretty village of Llanbedr has two great pubs serving good food, a village shop and a charming tea room. The surrounding area is a haven for outdoor enthusiasts, with many renowned walking and mountain biking trails, there is even cycle hire available in the village. There are some wonderful walks from the door and Cwm Nantcol, Cwm Bychan and the Roman Steps are all easily reached. Just two miles away are the beaches of Shell Island and within three miles is the World Heritage Site of Harlech Castle, along with the delightful town itself and its wonderful six miles of sands, watched over by the excellent St. David’s links golf course. This is an excellent family base for discovering the stunning scenery of the Snowdonia National Park and the nearby spectacular coastline of Cardigan Bay. Perfect anytime of the year.

The pretty village of Llanbedr quietly nestles in ancient woodland between The Rhinogs, part of the Snowdonia Mountains, and the stunning golden beaches of the North Wales coastline. Situated next to the beautiful River Artro, and boasting a mild climate due to its unusual positioning behind the high dunes of a nature reserve, this charming village has an exciting array of wildlife and birds, handy local shops, bike hire and mountain walks on your doorstep, as well as two excellent pubs. The small town of Harlech is just 3 miles away and boasts the World Heritage Site of Harlech Castle, a majestic 13th century stronghold, the most impressive of all those built in North Wales by Edward I. Popular with golfers due to its famous Royal St. David's course, Harlech also boasts an excellent variety of amenities including some good quality restaurants and the most magnificent six-mile long sandy beach, perfect for wonderful walks and family fun. Nearby Barmouth offers the amazing Panorama Walk along the beautiful Mawddach Estuary, providing breathtaking vistas, which were described by John Ruskin as “the most sublime view in Europe” and also a harbour from which you can catch a ferry to Fairbourne for a ride on the miniature railway, or a boat trip out to sea to try mackerel fishing. The cottage is ideally placed for visiting North Wales with a wide variety of things to do and places to visit. The cottage is well provisioned, you’ll struggle to find anything missing, and the welcome pack covers everything from a Cup of Coffee/Tea to the dishwasher tablets to clear up afterwards. The beds are all comfortable, I’m reliably informed as I only slept in one, and all the linen was clean and plenty of it. The lounge has comfortable sofa’s a variety of lighting, TV and good internet connection. The whole cottage is nicely presented without being so over the top you are constantly making sure things are not getting knocked over or letting kids/pets be themselves. The owner sent us a welcome text to make sure everything was ok on arrival. Despite being beside the road, it is a bit busy during the day, the noise was not intrusive and its quiet at night so doesn’t present a problem at all. We had a great stay and I’d recommend the property to anyone plannimg a visit to North Wales.
