This lovely white-painted, traditional stone cottage stands by the side of a quiet lane in its own enclosed grounds with patio, in a secluded location in a peaceful valley just to the east of Dinas Mawddwy, on the south eastern edge of the Snowdonia National Park. With wonderful scenery all around and walks from the door over the owners' fields and hills around the cottage, this is the ideal place to relax in peaceful surroundings, in a property that combines original features with modern conveniences to an excellent 5* standard.
The cottage is mostly single-storey, and accommodates six people in comfort. The cosy, beamed sitting room has a leather suite, a small TV (Sky package including Sky Sports), woodburning stove (initial basket of logs provided), and there is an additional first-foor 'snug', with TV/DVD player. The smart fitted kitchen diner includes integrated fridge/freezer and dishwasher, and a good sized dining table and six chairs, adjacent to French doors leading out onto the patio. A separate utility porch houses washing machine, tumble dryer and ample storage for coats, boots etc. Oil central heating, WiFi, iPod dock, payphone, and Welcome Tray provided. There are two ground floor bedrooms, double and twin, and a large bathroom with shower over the bath, WC and basin. To the first floor is a lovely beamed double bedroom with en suite shower room (low door, with steps up and over a beam), in addition to the snug.
Outside, the cottage has an enclosed patio garden with mature shrubs, and views over the surrounding hills, garden furniture and barbecue. Plenty of excellent walking from the door; Dinas Mawddwy, with Red Lion pub, just under 2 miles; two hotel/bars and Meirion Mill visitor centre shop/cafe a little further. Historic Brigands' Inn pub, and petrol/convenience store, 4 miles. Easy access to the historic towns of Dolgellau, 12 miles (supermarket, golf, Mawddach Estuary walk), and Machynlleth, 16 miles (station, leisure centre/pool, golf, Museum of Modern Art). The coast is just over 20 miles away at Aberdfyi (historic golf course, watersports, long sandy beach) or Fairbourne (sand/pebble beach and steam railway).
