Views towards mountains and general surroundings are peaceful and relaxing, cottage is cosy and well-maintained and heated throughout. The narrow hillside track up to the cottage is very steep and sharp initially but we got used to it and were up and down everyday exploring the area.

A beautifully remote little hideaway ideally suited to our specific plans for the weekend. We would definitely consider staying again if returning to the area.

I have visited Snowdonia many times in the past and its a beautiful part of the world. Cefn is situated in pure nature, beauty and quietness. We did many walks, went for runs in around the steep hillsides, roads and local area. Visited the nearby Barmouth Beach which was truly spectacular! Golden sands and clear sea water on one side and tall hillsides, greenery, old buildings on the other and the weather was great low to mid 20s ! What a lovely little place that was and it takes less than 30 minutes by car and very scenic, especially passing between the mountain valleys. Cefn was tidy, comfy and is a great place to stay. Yes, the road up is a bit steep with minimal passing places as described in the description but we never once encountered the local farmer who i believe lives in the property further up the road? The views from Cefn are amazing. The lovely peaceful sounds of birds when you wake up, to be able to sit out side in the spacious garden area and just enjoy scenery and nature, no cars, no noise from sirens...no one staring in and being nosey. We live in a fairly quiet part of the UK but its growing so fast and becoming more of a city than a market town. There is a slight smell of damp when entering the home but this is not a fault. Its a house built in the old ways of thick stone walls. We have this in over half of our own house and we get the same issues when its been wet and cold for weeks. Its due to no modern insulation between the walls as they are super thick and made in traditional ways before building regulations and more. I love how the property is spread over two floors. Downstairs is very practical and cooler and upstairs being a converted attic is always warm. I am 6ft 3" and i did come to close quarters confrontations with the low beams but generally its the one above the cooker as i enjoy the cooking aspect of being on a break...but the small door ways to the bedroom are fun and interesting and our daughter loved this. We were there for her 7th birthday. A lovely home to stay in, beautiful part of Wales, within Snowdonia. We saw the American jets flying by which although unique is not something i believe is needed in this beautiful area of nature and peace and quiet. It is though quite an occasion to see yourself potentially higher up than they are flying....The local people i bumped into were as kind and welcoming as ever. I like that the ancient Welsh language is still spoken even though it is said to be sadly fading? If you like some peace and quiet and with places to explore nearby then Cefn is a perfect little spot. Cosy, has all you need. Dog friendly (we took one aging dog) and is situated within the hillside with stunning panoramic views.
