  We were only given one bin bag to last 7 days for 8 people so we had to buy more. There were no washing machine tablets/powder so we had to buy those as well. Only one loo roll given to each bathroom again had to buy more, for the price you pay for the property you expect these things to be given and not to have to buy them. If we’d know you get so little we would of brought these things with us. There were no basics like salt and pepper. The cleanliness was disappointing, cobwebs and dust everywhere. The cobwebs were very lowdown you couldn’t miss them. In the corner of the kitchen and under the radiator in the snug. The bedside tables and the sinks in the bathroom were covered in dust and had bits of dirt covering them. It looked like it hadn’t been cleaned at all properly. Their were finger print all over the loo roll holder and the flush. When using the pop up waste in the bathroom sink black stuff came up and into the sink. One of the toilets had urine stains on the seat that looked like it’d been there for a while. The cutlery drawer was filthy as was some of the cutlery, cups and plates. The blue couch was covered in pet hair when we arrived. It was very disappointing to see as we ended up cleaning the bathrooms ourselves as it just wasn’t clean. The dryer door is broken so it was a struggle putting things in and out of it. For the price you pay you do expect it to be much cleaner than it was on our arrival. But it was a lovely house and beautifully decorated, we were all a massive fan of the modern interior. The views were breathtaking, fabulous location. It was just a shame the cleanliness let it down.

  Loved our break at Raw Pastures.

  We had everything we needed to have a great week. Location was perfect only 15mins walk into the town, and around the same to the Abby. The kitchen was very well equipped and there was even complimentary tea, coffee, sugar and milk. All bedrooms have comfortable beds and lovely Egyptian cotton bedding. Spotlessly clean. We were extremely lucky with the weather and so we could sit out on the raised patio and soak up the sun with our G&Ts Huge loft games room (we didn’t use) but it was there if you needed it. Every room was lovely and it was hard to choose which we wanted to stay in. Will definitely go back in fact looking to booking again next year. There was 6 of us there should of been 8 but 2 could not come, but plenty of room for everyone. Looking forward to another visit.

  Kittiwake is the perfect holiday home for a family with children (of any age at all - toddlers to teenagers) with grandparents and also with a dog. You would be hard pushed to find a better location and the loveliest of views (when the fret clears away) Communication prior to the holiday was superb. The welcome basket was a lovely touch. Even the neighbours were fabulous. Top tip while Covid restrictions continue - book any meals you want to go out for before you arrive in Northumberland and if you want to go to National Trust properties/gardens book them in advance too. One last thing - there was a stunning barn owl that we were lucky enough to see swooping and soaring throughout our stay at Kittiwake - hope you’re lucky enough to see it too.

  We had a brilliant stay at Kingston House. The property is on 3 floors with a spiral staircase through the middle leading to all floors. The decor is fun and quirky and we loved it. The beds were all very comfortable with lovely bedding and pillows. 2 en suite, a family bathroom and another separate loo meant all the family were catered for. The kitchen diner was great and the lounge comfy with plenty of seating. The location is ideal overlooking the pier a couple of minutes walk to the beach and so many lovely shops in the town. We would definitely stay again.

  Fantastic heated swimming pool. Bookable on a daily basis per cottage. Sadly not open for early or late swimmers (closed/ locked at 6.30pm). Very responsive host/owners for some minor issues/repairs that were needed. Great location near National Trust/beaches. Despite being November the cottage was warm. Great to have free access to washing machines and dryer especially if you have children with you. Take beach/swimming towels and washing soap. Although several major supermarkets are only 2 miles away. We highly recommend this place.
