  Pros: Fantastic property, I thought a fisheye lens had been used for the photos but no, it's huge!

  The promenade and beach are literally just across the road. Beach is sandy with the tide coming right in to the sea wall to would be great for sandcastles. Sea is shallow a long way out so safer than many. There are both steps and slopes down to the beach. Cons: The door into the entrance porch is really difficult to open despite having received instructions by text just before we arrived. Luckily the man from the upstairs flat came down to help us. After that my partner was able to open the door but it was completely impossible for me. This really needs sorting out or someone could be either locked in or out!

  38 The Parade is a very nice modern apartment that is situated usefully within a short walk of both an Aldi and M&S foods, ideal for self catering.

  There are lots of pubs and cafes also within a short stroll. The lounge is lit up by morning sunshine, and you only have to cross the promenade to be able to get a coffee on by the sea, waves can be heard as the Parade is not busy with traffic. There is a smart TV and large comfy sofa, we enjoyed evenings out and in. Walton-on-the-naze has a long Promenade which is lovely to walk along, and lots of traditional seaside activities, as well as the Naze tower and the SSSI CLIFF walk. We also found Walton to be a great base to explore the surrounding Essex and South Suffolk Coasts, as well as Colchester

  The apartment was clean and airy and spacious.

  Appreciated the little unexpected touches e.g. Tea towel, soap, bin liners, tin foil, loo rolls... Perfect location being on sea front, could even hear waves from lounge! Could do with hooks on back of door to lounge for coats or row of hooks on wall just inside lounge. Also several lights and bulbs didn't work. Would like bedding provided for sofa bed for times one of us can't sleep (snoring issues, medical issues, sleep apnea cpap machine etc). I will request this next time. But a wonderful apartment and would come again. Just disappointed that there are no vacancies for at least 2 years!!

  We found this apartment to be very well appointed and in a great position to explore this part of the coast.

  We particularly liked the fact that we were in sight of the sea. In addition, there were many eateries and grocery shops in the near vicinity which made self catering extremely easy. Everything in the apartment was very well thought out and we were very comfortable. Although quite centrally situated, we had very little noise from traffic. We very much appreciated the contact from the owner asking us for a time of arrival so the heating could be switched on for us - quite important in mid January! We wouldn't hesitate to visit this property again.

  Our second time at 38 The Parade, it has a great outlook, in a central location for all shops and bus service.

  This property is so homely and comfortable you feel at home as you walk through the door and Donna and Peter are so friendly and helpful, they live next door so are on hand if needed but also quite happy to leave you alone if that is what you need. Some great places to eat with a wide range of food are all on the doorstep, but also the kitchen is so well equipped that you can cook all your own food. I can't praise this property enough but perhaps I should stop in case everyone else wants to go there and we can't book it again
