  We stayed at Fern Cottage during the October half term.

  The cottage itself is just lovely, everything is so well thought out, and extremely well equipped. The owner, Jo left a lovely welcome pack for us and checked in with us by text the next day to make sure we had settled. We were a family of 5 staying and there was plenty of room for us all , both at the dining table and snuggled in front of the log burner. The cottage was spotless. Elsworth village is beautiful, lots of different walks for the dogs and the pubs (Poacher and George & Dragon ) are both within walking distance. Lovely friendly well stocked village shop. I would thoroughly recommend Fern Cottage both for the location and the cottage itself. Thank you Jo, you do an excellent job.

  Exceptional property with a stunning garden in an idyllic location.

  The village was so picturesque with the river carrying barges and boats, plus providing a home for the many swans and wildlife. The Coronation Cottage was extremely well planned, with plenty of room to relax in. The beds were so comfortable and the facilities/equipment provided covered all our needs. The extras and welcome pack provided by Tracey were greatly appreciated. We found lot's to do in the local area and enjoyed a variety of days out. We especially enjoyed the National Trust properties and Downham Market. We would highly recommend Coronation Cottage and would love to return one day. Thank you for a wonderful holiday.

  Village Retreat was all that we hoped it would be for a short stay.

  Tucked away in a quiet corner, it was clean and well presented. The ‘Welcome Pack’ of assorted teas, coffees etc., milk, croissants, cake and wine, was much appreciated. All kitchen equipment that might be needed was to hand. After contacting the owner, the one problem we did find was dealt with promptly. The property was well situated for visiting Ely and surrounding area, with a comfy bed for a good night’s sleep. Can recommend Rumbles Fish and Chip shop a couple of minutes walk from the property and a fifteen minute walk down Main Street to The Swan on the River. Altogether a good property for an enjoyable short stay.

  Cannot praise fern cottage enough!

  We stayed here for a long weekend when going to a wedding locally, and it was a fantastic base. Really comfortable, spotlessly clean, and a really well designed space (nice sized rooms, good storage, and a nice open downstairs space, but with privacy if you wanted it). The owners were really welcoming, and even had provided age appropriate toys for the kids (a baby and a toddler), and an allergy appropriate welcome basket. Normally, travelling with 2 small kids is about 10 times more tiring than staying at home, but we actually managed to relax a bit here, which is high praise indeed!

  We booked Fern Cottage for a 60th birthday celebration.

  Jo was so helpful to get the property ready early on arrival date & even decorated the cottage for us - it makes such a difference when the owner goes above & beyond to make your visit so pleasant. The cottage is brilliant & in an excellent location, with a couple of nice pubs in walking distance & plenty of walks for the dogs - even if a bit muddy in February. We made great use of the TV Room to watch England beat France in 6 Nations, so that was a nice bonus to a really excellent weekend, at a lovely property, with a really helpful owner. I would 100% recommend Fern Cottage
