What our customers say about their holidays
Nigel H - Verified booking
The cottage met all our expectations. It was quirky, cosy and the undulating floors and quaint windows added to our enjoyment. The shower pressure was excellent and during a very hot week the stone cottage remained cool. We did take a fan with us but it was not required. The cottage did not provide parking, however there was ample parking in the road. There are some good walks locally and it only takes a few minutes to walk to the town centre. The pubs are all good and the Thai restaurant was excellent. There are three good supermarkets in the town. In addition there are numerous small food shops selling excellent local products. The comings and goings at the adjacent church and parish rooms kept us interested and the neighbours were friendly. The welcome pack was a nice surprise and included many local products including biscuits, tea, coffee, apple juice and milk. The high winds the day before we arrived had torn away the climbing rose from the front of the cottage. It wasn't a problem but we received a call to say it would be addressed and it was the next day. We were impressed! We had a great week and plan to return!

Really lovely 4 night stay . Stayed at this very old cottage several years ago. Lovely and warm when we arrived. Able to park outside. Loved the very thoughtful welcome pack of local products. All the little things were provided. Including firefighters , matches and wood .we had bought some logs with us . Dishwasher a bonus. Central heating kept us really warm . Bed very comfortable, lovely linen. Visiting Chippy to catch up with friends and youngest son .Went to Chastleton House. National Trust . We’re members! Broadway very Christmassy. Went to Chippy Panto on the Friday eve which was wonderful. Entertained our friends at cottage sat eve.. Youngest son drove down from Birmingham on Sunday and met us fora delicious Sunday lunch at Boxing Hare , just 10 mins out of Chippy. Loved the Christmassy feel in the town . M&S food hall a complete bonus . Such a perfect fun filled weekend, thanks.

Cottage ideally situated in a stunning village about 10 minutes drive from Bourton-on-the-Water.
Some essentials in the fridge on arrival which were much appreciated after a long drive. We stayed with our small toddler and dog. The garden was lovely and a BBQ is on site to use. A number of steps downstairs made things tricky with the baby, as did the open balustrades both downstairs and upstairs. A baby gate was provided but it was missing pieces to attach it to the wall(!). However, given this is a period property, this is somewhat to be expected but just something to note if you're planning to bring babies or toddlers. Cleanliness was also a bit of an issue: the surfaces in the cottage were dusty on arrival, the carpets hadn't been vacuumed upstairs and there was dirty cutlery in the kitchen drawers. We also found clothing from a previous guest in one of the bedroom cupboards..!

Jayne is awfully kind, the cottage was immaculately cleaned upon arrival, and the welcome packet is sublime.
And I find it hard to write the rest, as we found the cottage disappointing. The kitchen is tiny, the fridge is way too small if, like me, you order groceries for 5 days. It does just fit 2 days, at most. The kitchen lacks storage space, some shelves above the fridge would have made a positive difference. Downstairs in general is on the small side, upstairs is better, but without any proper wardrobes. Hooks on the wall instead. The windows throughout are difficult: some open, some donât or miss the iron work to keep them open. The fire place doesnât work properly, we ended up with the front door wide open to let the smoke get out of the front room. Not what you hope for on a chilly evening. All in all rather uncomfortable and disappointing.

We are HBP bond holders We are HP Bondholders but booked through Cotswold Hideaway. We are grateful for their welcome treats also for their prompt resolution to a small electrical problem, an electrician arrived the next day and also supplied two addition tea plates! Our weather was varied but we enjoyed Batsford Arboretum on a fine sunny day with good snacks in the cafe. On a more unsettled day we tool shelter in a warm at the Slaughters inn by a fire and enjoyed an excellent lunch. We also enjoyed a local walk to a very accessible theatre/cinema to see the latest Poirot film. Thank you for the logs, kindling and matches, making for a cosy stay in this well appointed cottage.
