What our customers say about their holidays

We stayed in Hazelnut and couldn't be happier - From the milk and cake waiting for us to the extraordinarily comfortable beds, we felt spoiled in the best of ways. There was an unlimited supply of firewood so we were able to keep cozy and warm. They even had it prepped so all we had to do was light a match. The grounds are picturesque. It felt like we were in a painting overlooking the goat-speckled hill. The sounds of the nearby woods and winds across the grass were grounding and peaceful. We enjoyed a walk through the woods. It was Autumn so we watched pretty yellow leaves sprinkling down like gentle rain. The kitchen had everything we needed and was perfect. The couch - comfy and relaxing. The bed - I slept 11 hours and I don't usually sleep well. I just kept going back to it and sleeping. We nearly cancelled all our plans we had prepaid to just stay there but we pried ourselves out. Like other reviewers, we wish we had booked it for longer. The pond is nice and had fishing poles there. I caught and released a good-sized trout - sooo fun! The staff and people working on the property were all very friendly and helpful. One recommendation, if you get there after dark you can find the parking area but then finding the cottage is a little confusing. I may have missed some directions that were emailed though. It is nice and dark out there so you can see the stars very clearly when there are no clouds. The darkness is wonderful for sleep but n Tot easy if you get there after the sun goes down. The host was immediately responsive and helpful when I messaged that we were lost on the property. After we found the place the first time, we had no other struggles. I would recommend looking at it from Google Earth before going so you don't do like we did. This is a must-stay location and I travel all over the world in a variety of different venues. This was one of my favorites for the tranquility, comfort, thoughtfulness, kindness, and beauty. Oh, you can also order more cakes from them and arrange in advance for meals, groceries or other things for an extra cost. We wish we had taken advantage of that opportunity. Book now if you're even considering it!

The cottage met all our expectations. It was quirky, cosy and the undulating floors and quaint windows added to our enjoyment. The shower pressure was excellent and during a very hot week the stone cottage remained cool. We did take a fan with us but it was not required. The cottage did not provide parking, however there was ample parking in the road. There are some good walks locally and it only takes a few minutes to walk to the town centre. The pubs are all good and the Thai restaurant was excellent. There are three good supermarkets in the town. In addition there are numerous small food shops selling excellent local products. The comings and goings at the adjacent church and parish rooms kept us interested and the neighbours were friendly. The welcome pack was a nice surprise and included many local products including biscuits, tea, coffee, apple juice and milk. The high winds the day before we arrived had torn away the climbing rose from the front of the cottage. It wasn't a problem but we received a call to say it would be addressed and it was the next day. We were impressed! We had a great week and plan to return!

Really lovely 4 night stay . Stayed at this very old cottage several years ago. Lovely and warm when we arrived. Able to park outside. Loved the very thoughtful welcome pack of local products. All the little things were provided. Including firefighters , matches and wood .we had bought some logs with us . Dishwasher a bonus. Central heating kept us really warm . Bed very comfortable, lovely linen. Visiting Chippy to catch up with friends and youngest son .Went to Chastleton House. National Trust . We’re members! Broadway very Christmassy. Went to Chippy Panto on the Friday eve which was wonderful. Entertained our friends at cottage sat eve.. Youngest son drove down from Birmingham on Sunday and met us fora delicious Sunday lunch at Boxing Hare , just 10 mins out of Chippy. Loved the Christmassy feel in the town . M&S food hall a complete bonus . Such a perfect fun filled weekend, thanks.

Cottage is in a lovely peaceful setting.
Looking out of the bedroom and lounge window to see the monument. Cottage was accurately described and had everything we needed. The owner came out to say hello on the first evening and asked if everything was okay. When we booked the cottage we forgot to mention that my husband has a feather allergy because of his asthma, and we realised when we got to the cottage that the duvet was a feather one. We were just going to use sheets instead of the duvet but the owner very kindly looked for an alternative and found a non-feather duvet for us to use. Thank you, we really appreciate this! The owner left us to enjoy the holiday but when we bumped into her in the car park, she was friendly and gave us a few tips of what is in the area. The chequers pub is opposite right across the road, food was lovely with local beers on tap. We found a good walk to do aswell from the cottage.

We stayed at Anvil for a week in July and it's a lovely cottage, set in a small but beautiful village.
Unfortunately due to its location it wasn't for us... there is a childrens playground right next door that older kids congregated around that caused noise pollution late evening, along with the constant sound of running water from the village fountain which was also right next to the property. The bed in the master bedroom has a VERY firm mattress, which may suit some people but unfortunately for me immediately brought on a very painful pain in my hip and we ended up leaving a day early. Although the property was generally clean, there are many cobwebs (watch out for BIG Boris behind the headboard), we had to descale the kettle and shower head on day one, and all the crockery and cutlery required cleaning before use! Don't be put off by the garage next door, as they work quietly and caused no interference.
