  A HOME from HOME in MORTON Straight to the point.

  A wonderful experience. I am looking forward to staying at Mitford Gypsy Hut again. ARRIVAL By train, then a short walk to the Shepherd's Hut, easy to find / visible from main road. FIRST IMPRESSION Easy and safe access up a couple of steps with an adjacent handrail. Also a battery powered light to use if it happens to be dark INTERIOR Absolutely immaculately fitted out. As Shepherd's Huts go, Mitford Gypsy Hut is luxurious and spacious. KITCHEN and FOOD PREP AREA Really well designed. It worked exceptionally well for me. BATHROOM Compact and really well designed and fitted out. Shower, wash basin, WC, a delightful mirrored cabinet, and a heated towel rail ( I was there during Storm Darragh and was kitted out for horizontal rain. I was able to dry my ouside clothes no problem xxx) LOG BURNER Easy to use and quickly heated up the Hut. I recommend using it if it's cold or wet outside and particularly if it's both! THE BED It was just so comfy and toasty warm. I actually slept better than I do at home. In summary it was a real test to be staying in a Shepherd's Hut in the middle of a storm in December. I'm age 76 so have moderate mobility issues and like home comforts. My stay was for 5 nights and I would have been happy to stay much longer.

  We had a great couple of days here, walking , sitting in the sun and generally enjoying the Cotswolds.   The location was amazing. The amount of wildlife we saw from right outside the cottage was incredible. The cottage was comfortable, very roomy and felt really homely. The main shower leaked through the floor into the hallway downstairs. However Cotswolds Hideaways sent out a plumber the next working day and were very apologetic and kind throughout the process. Overall we would recommend the place as a quiet retreat!Other than having a couple of issues, we've had a wonderful time here. Its been fantastic being so surrounded by nature and seeing owls, deer,hares + birds of pray. Monster the cat was a lovely addition to our night time walks, we will miss his vocal welcome every time we exited the cottage! Overall a brilliant experience! 🙂

  A gem of a cottage. A beautiful cottage with all the necessary facilities in a wonderfully quiet location. Collecting the eggs in the morning was lovely. We did not want to leave and had a very pleasant stay here. We recommend visiting local towns and villages such as 'Broadway and all of the other chocolate box villages', there's lots to do. Eating at 'The Wild Rabbit' was very very nice and a trip to Daylesford Organic Farm is a must. Lots of history in St Michaels church up the road. Everything is a short drive or walk away, so very suitable e.g. Oxford isn't to far away. Thank you, we have really enjoyed our week here

  Thank you for making a beautiful, well appointed and comfortable country retreat. We've had a wonderful week walking (Bourton-on-the-Water ro The Slaughters and Naunton to Temple Guiting). Having coffee at Daylesford (a short walk away) and watching DVD's, bliss. Future visitors should note that there are wonderful places to eat nearby at The Fox, The Plough and the Wild Rabbit (probably necessary to book all in advance). We really appreciated the welcome hamper and extra touches like the DVD's, magazines, extra large bath mats and the bedside lights that are bright enough to read by. thank you and very best wishes.
