  A very enjoyable week of beach walks, boat trip to see the seals from Morston Quay, bicycle hire at Holkham Hall to explore the grounds (particularly recommend the walled garden), wonderful art collection and interiors at the hall, brief walk to Sandringham Park (not a good choice for dog owners as they need to be on their leads at all times), and harbour walk at Wells. Favourite beaches: Holkham and Brancaster Favourite dinner destination: The George and Dragon @ Cley-next-the-Sea Also enjoyed walks around The Tack House, relaxing in the garden, and the wood burning stove. Love the tranquillity here, plus of course the house is so comfortable and homely, with great attention to detail. We are planning a return trip next year as this week flew by, and there is so much more to see.

  The reason we scored cleanliness low was because the cottage had lots of dog hairs all over front and back door mats, hair all up the metalwork of the stairs. The venetian blinds were covered in dust, and lot of cobwebs everywhere. The WORST BIT was the bed absolutely stunk....VERY MUSTY, it was like the bed linen hadn't been dried properly from being laundered. You woke up smelling of it....!! I would recommend that a Private No Parking sign was put up on the side of the cottage as we had problem with other cars Parking on the driveway. The fridge was very noisy it kept you awake at night. Hope most of these comments are a one of problem.... as the cottage is lovely little gem in a lovely town. I don't usually complain but felt these issues had to be mentioned.

  Thank you for the warm welcome. Lovely fresh eggs from your hens, milk and snacks on arrival. Greet by Simon with a great explanation of the cottage and surrounding area. The information booklet was so useful, a plethora of things to do and places to eat. We have enjoyed eating pizza from Husk, sat on a blanket at the green in Heydon - pizza on Friday only - a must on the first night of arrival! Paddling in the waterfall at Swanton Morley was a delight for the boys. Great walk from National Trust car park through the woods to Blickling, superb lunch at the Buckinghamshire Arms. We discovered Winterton beach this year. Lovely sand and hardly anyone there. We lost count of the many seals we saw bobbing out of the water. Thank you.

  We enjoyed our return stay in this very comfortable property - a year on from our first visit. Last year we were just coming out of lockdown, so pubs and restaurant were not fully open. This year we have been able to eat out - we enjoyed lunch at the Wiveton Bell and Sunday Lunch at The Carpenter Arms at Wighton. We have revisited places we enjoyed last year - The marvellous beach at Holkham, walked into Holkham Hall, visiting the hall this year and revisiting the good walled garden. We explored further afield and would recommend (if you are a garden lover) the garden at The Old Vicarage, East Rudham. Off to Houghton Hall on our way home.

  Our first time to Norfolk, why did it take so long to catch on? Wonderful country side, coastline and wildlife, everyday has revealed something new. One of our highlights was the dog friendly steam train from Sheringham to HSH and a great 6 mile walk back. Dogs loved it. Don't think they were quite so enthused about the boat trip today to see the seals, they fell asleep in the bottom of the boat but they then had just spent 3 hours running around on the wonderful Holkham Beach so I can't really blame them!We slept like babies here, busy days and very peaceful nights, disturbed only occasionally by hooty owls!Thanks for a great stay.
