  “We had a wonderful week at Pengarth Cottage for February half term. Michael was really accommodating and allowed us to have a Sunday changeover at the last minute which we really appreciated. He checked in with us in advance to make sure we had all the information we needed and to tell us about the house and the local area. On arriving the house was warm and cosy and we were especially grateful for the beds already being made up and plenty of fresh towels available. The views from the master bedroom are stunning - you can practically count the beach huts on Abersoch main beach. Watching the sun set from the Juliet balcony was a highlight. In the evenings a glass of wine in front of the log burner was a perfect way to end the day. There were toilet rolls, tea, coffee, crisps and a few dishwasher and washing machine tablets to get us started before we were able to get to the shops which helped us out a lot. It was great to have all the appliances which were in good working order and which made this a home away from home. Our children and little dog especially loved the garden which, again, has the most incredible views. Thank you so much for a great stay. “ Best regards, Maria

  Comfortable, modern and clean and generally a lovely place to stay.

  The outside could do with some care and modernisation to be in keeping with the neighbouring houses and area as it was a bit of a heart-sink as we drove up. Of note, the information on line does not make it clear that the adjoining bedroom (twin) is literally that. Adjoined to another bedroom with no access to bathroom or landing. This might be less important if you have put your young children in there but absolutely inappropriate if you are booking this house for adult couples. We had planned to use the twin so our adult children and partners could have the doubles. It was inappropriate for us to have to go through their bedroom for the toilet and so I ended up downstairs in the single room with my husband on the floor on a mattress in there with me. There is also a problem with the window frame in the single room and the wind whistles all night. As my husband is elderly and I have physical health conditions it impacted on the enjoyment of our holiday; knowing we had to be in the single room in cramped conditions with the noise of the wind all night. We think this house is great for a family with small children but a no-no for adult couples.

  78 Cau Du is lovely bungalow within walking distance to beautiful Abersoch for the able bodied. The house itself was spotlessly clean throughout with very comfortable beds and crisp white linen. All on one level except for one step out onto the patio at the back. Spacious, bright living room. Not a huge kitchen but serviceable and reasonably well equipped for our party of 4 adults. Large, fully enclosed flagged patio gets the sun all day and has a slight elevated position giving way to a glimpse of the sea. Local Spar supermarket within 5 minute walk. Handy but expensive. Asda and Lidl stores available in Pwllheli which is approximately 15 mins by car. Abersoch itself is a great spot to visit with beautiful beaches and scenery and a generally fab vibe to it. Good selection of bars and restaurants. Some very narrow roads worth the journey to other beaches and pretty villages. One being the National Trust beach and cafe at Porthor, just stunning. This house is situated on the Cae Du estate but don't let this put you off. It's a very peaceful and well kept area that's a 15 minute walk to the fabulous Abersoch beach.

  My husband and I spent a delightful last week of October at Pengarth Cottage. We were more than happy with our choice. The location - up above Abersoch and close to the golf course - was ideal. The views from the master bedroom with en suite were unforgettable and changed with the changing weather. Here we were also in luck as the sun shone and the rain mostly kept at bay. The kitchen was spacious and very well equipped. Loved walking bare foot on the skate kitchen floor which was underfloor heated. The log burner fire in the comfortable lounge was used on a couple of evenings and we enjoyed the simple pleasure of watching the logs flame. The garden is beautiful but at this time of the year we were unable to take advantage of the sun loungers, bbq, and log burner. Another time at another season. The walk into Abersoch across the golf course was not different and saved having to take the car every time. Plenty to visit in the region. 5* recommendation.

  Just wanted to say what a wonderful long weekend we have had staying at Pengarth Cottage. From arriving on the drive we were blown away looking over the gate at the beautiful garden and cottage. On entering it didn’t disappoint exploring who would have each bedroom which were all gorgeous and quirky in a beautiful way, so much thought has gone into the layout and interior. High quality bedding and towels all included, we had the upstairs double with en-suite it was huge with beams and Juliette balcony, just loved sitting in the chair when I woke looking out across the bay. Kitchen fully equipped and a good size with underfloor heating that was lovely, cosy lounge that we didn’t use much as we had lovely weather and made use of the outdoor furniture, fire pit and bbq. I’m sure I’ve missed something but all in all a great holiday made super comfy and enjoyable with this beautiful accommodation. Will be back.
