  The property was exactly as described.

  Yes there were 122 steps but wow the view was worth it, if you need assistance with bags this can be arranged separately with the owner, we chose not to select this service and although we are 60+ years of age it was not a major issue as it really only affects you on your first and last day. Car parking is in local car parks all pay and display, however we did find some on street free parking but had to walk a bit further for this. The views from the property can be enjoyed from both bedroom windows, the lounge window and from the front door that we left open as the weather was very kind to us. There are two outside terraces, one with a table, chairs and umbrella, the other with a washing line, again amazing views from both. Plenty of places to eat and drink in the town. The only annoying thing is the fact that the shower is hand held over the bath, although this might be a bit if faff you have to weigh this up against the huge benefits this property has. All in all what more could you as for.

  Surprised at how spacious this property was .

  3 good sized bedrooms, 1 king-size,1 standard double & 1 single,all with ample storage for your stay. A well equipped kitchen with all that you need and a large lounge/diner ,with two sofas and table for 5/6 people. Bathroom has the usual toilet,basin & shower over bath,easy to clean. Personnelly I'd have cabinet for toiletries but it wasn't a problem. Private secluded garden to the rear to keep your dog safe if taking one ,some good sturdy chairs and table with a barbeque for some alfresco dining. We chose to eat at the nearby Ysgethin pub/restaurant,great food.. Only one point I could fault was that it took a while for hot water to reach taps/shower, wasting a bit of water,not sure if that could rectified. Overall we were very happy to stay there and are looking forward to booking another stay in the near future. Also a big plus was the communication between ourselves and the property owners, checking all was well & if there was anything we needed. Impressed is an understatement.

  We have 3 small dogs, it is important for us to consider where we go and what we stay in and because of this we have stayed in similar properties across the UK but this is by far the best location and best property to date.

  On arrival the property was easy to find and in a great location for local rural and beach walks. The property layout itself, all on one level, the cleanliness and the welcome pack exceeded our expectations and from the first moment we arrived we knew we were in for a great time. We did many days out to beautiful towns, beaches and historical sites and was able to unwind in the Sisial-y-mor cottage. Sarah the owner was great, friendly and very helpful. If you are looking to spend a holiday away from home with your dogs, walking distance from the beach, close to all amenities we many lovely places to stay, this has got to be one at the top of your list. From the moment we made contact with Sykes cottages, explained that we had found a property we liked and had 3 small dogs, they did the rest and made it work and because, the dogs, my girlfriend and I enjoyed it so much we are considering a return holiday to this property later in the year.

  2 Bwth Mawr sits in a very privileged position high above Barmouth and has stunning views that can be enjoyed from three pretty terraces outside and from indoors too.

  The walk to the cottage (which we were fully aware of) isn't easy and we are fairly fit, but we were there during a heatwave! The plus side of being high on the hill is that it's an absolute haven of peace and tranquility and a huge contrast to the hustle and bustle of Barmouth in high season. One thing to note is parking, we paid £11 each day for 24hr parking which you can use in many carparks in the region when visiting other areas but do check. We still managed to get a parking ticket though as we left our vehicle in a bay on Marine Parade back in Barmouth overnight so make sure you move in the evening to the main car park when things get quieter. We had a lovely week in Roger and Angela's cottage, thank you for sharing your home so other people can enjoy this beautiful part of Wales with all the flora and fauna plus a memorable view over the sea to Snowdonia.

  This is the 3rd time we've stayed at one of these cottages and we love the place.

  We've never left any negative feedback but we think there are 3 points worth mentioning this time. You need the kitchen window open if you're cooking and its extremely difficult to do so, it's difficult to access and very stiff. The skylight in the lounge is noisy when its windy and it does get windy there believe me! These are minor details and very quick fix if the owner decides to rectify them. The last issue is not so easily rectified. There is a guard dog onsite and it must hold the world record for barking. The other guests onsite raised this with the owner while we were there and it has been mentioned in the guest book. None of the above will deter us from visiting again however our next trip will be to somewhere near Tenby next March and we're looking already! The cottages are brilliant and with a few tweaks will be even better.
