Lovely and warm, very clean and I slept like a log on comfy mattress.
Thankyou for the treats and for the good weather. I missed having the pretty Poole teapot which I always used but Poole is now collectible so perhaps wisely rescued for itâs safety. Maybe a replacement for leaf tea fans? Can recommend little coffee shop in Modbury car park, The Ship in at Noss Mayo and a quick trip to the Nkuku place near Totnes if you like interiors. Smart sofas but low. I needed to pile up cushions on seat and back to be almost comfortable in the evening. Good tv and WiFi though. Some problems which included a very warped front door which was hard to open and close as well as being very noisy. Fortunately no one in other cottages! There was something wrong with the bathroom light which took a while to respond to pull cord, flashed too strongly when turned on and was super bright - perhaps an electrical fault or bulb too high wattage? I didnât use it at all, especially as in a bathroom with no extractor. Just left door open. Bathroom radiator only ever hot at the bottom suggesting it needed bleeding but could not find key. This is not a new problem so not sure why it has not been replaced if it cannot be bled. All issues reported to C and C in Salcombe as well as note left for housekeeping. Otherwise I had a good week and was lucky with the weather. Thanks to C and C in Salcombe for loan of key when I locked myself out!

Goodies on arrival very welcome so thank you.
However cottage quite cold as heating may not have been on for a while? Took about three days to warm through. I would have appreciated the handbook for new CH controls as new digital box on landing could be confusing. Nice and clean and well equipped kitchen. However I have been here before and there has always been a contact number for the couple who look after the property but not this year. Consequently only helpline was Coast and Country whose number did not work when I tried during work hours. Not reassuring so needs to be acted on. Very disappointed that the ceiling over the lounge window leaked yet again when rain heavy, exactly as same time last year although not so bad. Owner was informed by C and C and their response was that it had happened before and needed major work to correct. Exactly what I was told last year but clearly this had not been done. (Once again the owners were out of the country). This is unfair on guests, some of whom who return in good faith that the property has been repaired and will be properly maintained. I would advise any new potential guests in winter to check with C and C that the roof work needed has been carried out. I would like to return if this is attended to. Thank you.

We loved this cottage!
Looked tiny from outside but inside spacious and comfy. The kitchen was one of the best equipped we have found, as we have learned over the years to always take a sharp knife which this time stayed in its bag. The view of the sea from the bedroom was gorgeous, as was the big comfy bed. A tiny thing - maybe a little gate so that you can let dogs out in the garden for a late night pee? However 2 garden chairs across the gap did the job. No longer a pub in the village which is a shame but thank you to Ash at the Pickwick which became our local - we made use of the roaring fire every day! Please be aware if you stay out of season - there are no paths or street lighting, take care if walking in the village - but loads of public footpaths around for dog walking. Lastly - best food of the week at the Oyster Shack and beautiful ancient Journeys End pub at Ringmore - again take care walking down from the car park in the dark! Thank you again for a great stay x

Firstly I would happily recommend this cottage.
My grading relates to the practices of the holiday companies. Enjoyed the new sofas, lamp and security light. Lovely and clean as always and my favourite biscuits! Slept well as so quiet. Look forward to coming back again. However holiday was affected by bad leak in lounge onto window sill. Arrived to problem which had been noted by turn-round team who reported it to Coast and Country as well as Sykes. I was regularly needing to empty pans and replace / dry out towels. Ceiling badly stained and starting to sag slightly at the wall as problem worsened. Leaves removed from gutter at the end of the week but this had no effect. What surprised and disappointed me was that I had no contact whatsoever from C and C or Sykes all week. No apology. No asking if I minded having to deal with the issue as I did not actually sign up for this as part of a holiday. Nothing. Hopefully the next Sykes guests will be treated with more consideration and courtesy.
