What our customers say about their holidays
Paul - Verified booking
Hi Rupert and Helen, thank you for the use of your lovely holiday home.
We loved the lovely spacious open and roomy areas. The WIFI worked well in all areas, hot water was plentiful, beds clean and very comfortable. Bathrooms, showers, all to a very high standard, appreciated by all. On the other hand. On arrival we found all the locks stiff and difficult to turn on entry. Plus key labelling could help. Dirty or poorly cleaned crockery, cookware and frying pan handle had to be put back on, on arrival. Third double bedroom would benefit from some noise attenuation to reduce boiler/water pipes/shower. It disturbed my sons sleep. Also outside seating cushions were wet, the cover not keeping the water out. We have left them dry and in the Games room under the Bar billiards table. Back to the positive, nice to have toys and books for our granddaughter we spent a thoroughly good time having our first family holiday for a long time. The games room was a big hit. We also experienced the aurora borealis during the night of the solar storm this made an extra special experience in the garden. Thank you once again for the welcoming beers. We would have no problem recommending your holiday home to our friends, thank you, Kind regards. Paul Betty and family.

The property is semi detached and Jane the owner lives next door.
It is very rural, between two hamlets with views of the South Downs. Jane met us on arrival and took us around the cottage and pointed out one or two things to be aware of and to show us which keys fitted which locks. She said if any issues we could speak to her as she was about most times. The cottage was very clean and carpeted throughout except the kitchen and utility area. The bedrooms and bathroom were spacious and the bed very comfortable. Ample storage and cupboards were provided. The shower has a pump system and a choice of rain shower or hand held shower and was very powerful. There was plenty of crockery, kitchen utensils etc for our needs so no problems there. Also a linen line was available to dry the washing. We were also entertained by the wildlife including birds and a family of rabbits which visited the garden in the evenings. All in all a very enjoyable holiday (helped by the good weather) and a very pleasant place to stay. Jane had a chat with us before we left and wished us a safe journey. We would certainly return again in the future.

It looked like this property had just been "nearly" finished.
The top floor attic conversion, had two large dormer windows without blinds, or any method of keeping them open, therefore "green house hot", making the entire floor unusable, sun up at 06.00. 75 degrees plus, by midday. The ensuite bathroom lacked a handle on the inside, a sign saying "Watch your Head" on the staircase to this level, would be a very good idea!!. We couldn't make use of the this floor at all, effectively reducing the four bedrooms, two ensuites to to three bedrooms and a shared bathroom, not ideal. The letting agent informed us the man to measure the blind had let them down. The bedroom door on the 1st floor would not shut, the bins had not been emptied, This property would benefit hugely from a proper detailed "snagging" it currently lacks "attention to detail".

We have just returned from a lovely week in Sussex staying at the Dog and Trout. The cottage was super comfy and well equipped, with lovely large bathrooms. Our cockapoo was able to stretch his legs in the pretty and secluded garden. We really appreciated the lovely welcome gifts and it was nice to meet the owners, Julie and Martyn, who were very helpful. We were lucky enough to have mostly sunny weather and particularly enjoyed the three village pubs, which were all dog friendly and served great food. We went for some lovely walks from the cottage across the downs, up to Cissbury Ring, and travelled further afield to the coast and to the Weald & Downland Living Museum. Would recommend a car to get to the shops and village eateries. We may well be back!!

A fantastic holiday property, very clean, well-decorated and convenient.
Loved the colourful wall pictures etc. Such a light, spacious and airy house with everything you would need provided. We only used one bedroom, so didn't need such a big place, but chose it for the convenient location/ability to bring a small dog. Very welcoming with tea, coffee sachets etc and very convenient to have parking on the drive. Just marked down slightly on maintenance as the courtyard garden would have benefitted from a little bit of attention and the drainpipes to the front of the property were disconnected, resulting in a wave of water running down to the front step when we had torrential rain.
