  The only reason I wouldn't book this cottage again is that it is so far for us to travel.

  The location is stunning and everybody is really friendly. However there are really very few places you can go in if you have dogs. There is only one pub in Findochty which only allows dogs in the public bar not the lounge where the large dining area is so if you want to eat there you either have to sit outside which is fine if the weather is good or they have one small table in the bar which is also quite a small space dominated by a pool table, the views from the outside seating are amazing though. The most dog friendly place we found locally was Portsoy where there is a small cafe where dogs are allowed both inside and outside., and in the marble shop in the 17th century harbour.

  Me and my girlfriend have been to a few cabins and this is one of the best ones we have been to. The hot tub has amazing view of the highland hills and the night sky. The owners are really nice and incredibly welcoming and helpful. We were told that we were the first ever guests at the cabin so we went in expecting a few things to not be fully sorted out yet. But considering that, we had no real complaints. There was no sharp knifes and no shampoo or body wash but a quick drive to shop and that’s sorted. It is definitely one of our favourite cabins we have ever been to and we would definitely stay there again and would highly recommend it.

  Our experience at the Wee Spruce was outstanding. Steve and Maggie provided us with valuable information and guidance while also respecting our privacy. The cabin included an information pack filled with details about local walks, attractions, dining options, and more. It is just a 10-minute drive to the starting point of Ben Rinnes (a Corbett), which our dog thoroughly enjoyed. Additionally, there is a pleasant walk to the Linn Falls, as mentioned in the information pack, that is easily accessible on foot. A thoughtful addition was the log-burning starter kit, along with two small bottles of Glen Allachie Whisky.

  The house is huge, we didn't use the dining room or second lounge area.

  The beds were comfortable and the house in general was very clean. The house had everything we needed except some oven trays and sharp knives. The outside area was great for the dogs and a great suntrap on the nicer days we had. There's a grassed area literally a minute from the house leading upto a war memorial and amazing views over Findochty pronounced Finechty by the locals. A great base to get to Buckie, Portknockie and Cullen. A lovely house overall but just needs a little updating in places, other than that it's in a great location.

  The house is huge!

  So much space for the four of us and our two labs. Lovely and clean, with good parking. The enclosed courtyard area was perfect for the dogs. Washer and dryer an added bonus. Short walk to the local stony beach and just a 7 minute to the beautiful Cullen Beach. We had an amazing stay and would definitely be back. Only downside was the previous guests hadn’t put the bins out so the yard next to the back door was a bit smelly.
