**Review of Our Stay at Heritage Retreat: 10/10!
** Our holiday was a perfect 10/10! **Location (10/10)** The retreat boasts stunning coastal views and a tranquil atmosphere, making it a great escape. Itâs also conveniently near charming towns and Cardiff City **Accommodations (10/10)** Our rental was beautifully decorated for Christmas, with a cozy living area featuring a fireplace and comfortable bedrooms for relaxation and amenities for our dog also. Everything was exceptional quality! And we loved that it had its own hot tub also! A short walk away is the most wonderful oldie worldly pub The Plough and Harrow and thereâs also walks along the Glamorgan Heritage coastline on the doorstep **Amenities (10/10)** The kitchen was fully equipped for holiday and extra logs for the wood burning stove available onsite. **Cleanliness (10/10)** The property was spotless upon arrival, showing the hosts' dedication to cleanliness and detail. **Customer Service (10/10)** The hosts were welcoming and responsive and a thoughtful welcome basket filled with treats and a milk was kindly left for us in the fridge. Nothing was too much trouble for Glyn and Phillipa they were gems! **Overall Experience (10/10)** Our time at Heritage Retreat was magical, combining beautiful views, festive decor, and excellent accommodations, making this holiday unforgettable. **Final Thoughts:** For a memorable Christmas getaway by the sea, Heritage Retreat is a true gem. We highly recommend it and canât wait to return!

In short, the cottage requires a very thorough deep clean.
It was filthy dirty and full of cobwebs, mould and rust. The toilet roll holder in the downstairs toilet is full of rust (as was the tin opener in the kitchen). There are bits of skirting missing, four spices completely out of date (one was 2021!). Someone called 'Emily' has written her name on the wall at the downstairs banister point (LH side), the bathroom medicine cabinet is shabby and is showing mirror degradation, the wardrobe in the single room was jammed open, the ceiling and wallpaper in that room are peeling off (the ceiling very considerably), the dressing table in that room is marked. There is a lot of damp showing in the cottage, the worst of which is in the double bedroom - the wall near the small window is disgusting with it and all the silicone is mouldy. The kitchen sink has mould all over the silicone, and so has the shower grout in the downstairs facilities. The shower curtain is also full of mould. There is also mould in the living room. There are cobwebs in the cooker between the glass in the bottom door. There is NO way any of us would stay again. The damp and the mould affected me within 24hrs and cleared by the end of Sunday after getting home. If the owners wish to see pictures to explain the above, I am happy to share them. I would not have posted in this vein if it had not affected the enjoyment of our holiday, but it did. I felt very responsible as it was I who had booked on behalf of us and our friends.

Great stay in a beautiful location.
We really enjoyed our stay at Kenfig Farm, and the weather was great â all sunshine and no rain. There is lots of space inside, with a well-stocked kitchen, log burner, comfy beds, and a fabulous bath. The location is stunning, and the property has fantastic views over Kenfig pool, the dunes and sea. The house is set back from the road, not overlooked, and has a nice garden with picnic tables. Itâs also wonderful to watch and hear all the birds â including the noisy and delightful nesting sparrows! The owners are friendly and helpful and have left lots of information for guests, as well as books, maps, leaflets and details of the history of the village and farm. (We also had milk in the fridge and some yummy Welsh cakes left for us on arrival, which was a nice extra â thank you!) There are amazing walks on the doorstep, and the golden sand beaches here are stunning. (There are lots more beaches and walks within a short drive too.) The Prince of Wales pub is just a minuteâs walk away and the Sunday roast there is highly recommended! We also enjoyed a nice meal at the nearby Angel Inn. If youâre looking for a peaceful, relaxing break, close to the sea and nature, Kenfig Farm ticks the boxes.

This was a family get together and 7 of us stayed in the cottage for a week.
With 5 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, there was plenty of room, and the kitchen, lounge and conservatory were all large rooms too. The conservatory had wonderful views of the garden and the kitchen was very cosy and pretty. It was great having two different areas we could eat in. The conservatory was bigger, but the kitchen was warmer. We were all impressed with the bedrooms which were all well furnished; beds were comfortable and the bedding felt lovely quality. There are some fantastic views from the windows. It's truly a beautiful property! It's also very practical; the kitchen is well equipped and there's plenty of storage space for groceries, which isn't always the case. We had some minor problems with the house during our stay and the owner responded quickly to fix things. For example, the heating had turned off as it was April, but they turned it back on and were very generous with the timings. This made a big difference to my elderly parents who feel the cold. They also welcomed us with homemade Welsh cakes and fresh local milk. If we went back to the area, we would definitely stay here again.

We shared our holiday week in October with some old friends and we all had a wonderful week at the cottage.
Kitchen is very well equipped but just to warn you fridge is down a step in room next door. Used washing machine and tumble dryer which was a big bonus. Could have hung out on line but no pegs so that would be very useful. Our king size bed was extremely comfortable but our friends had twin beds and they felt they needed toppers to make more comfortable. The weather was warm and so spent some time in the garden. The grass was extremely long and wet underfoot so dogs got wet and clearing up was harder! Small issues but we still loved our week at Ewenny. Itâs so close to beautiful beeches and places to visit. We didnât need to use the fire but itâs all there for you to take advantage of if you want to. The cottage is not ultra modern but itâs a wonderful and welcoming place to stay and would definitely recommend it.
