What our customers say about their holidays

The Wash House is very comfortable and clean.
The kitchen is superb, with lots of utensils, crockery and cutlery, and it has a huge American-style fridge-freezer. There are three double-bedrooms, which makes it a little tricky if you are looking for at least one twin room, but the mattresses were very comfortable to sleep on. The bedroom upstairs is very large but it has sloping ceilings and my partner and I lost count of the number of times we banged our heads (the paintwork has several marks where others have also suffered the same fate). For us, the biggest disappointment was the location. This property is hidden away in a residential area and is a good walk from the town centre. Of course we had looked at the map before booking but whilst one of the beaches is only a short walk away, it is accessed via some very steep steps at the back of the local pub and is only really used by dog walkers. We had to use the car to go out to places because there was precious little near the house and in Bembridge to keep us entertained.

The property is sensational and its wonderful location is matched by the superb manner in which the owners have decorated and furnished throughout.
Perfect for a family holiday for 8 people with an abundance of space. The setting is magnificent with hills all around and the most wonderful gardens on the property itself. There are two coastal walks immediately outside of the main gates, one in the direction of Shanklin and the other towards Bonchurch and Ventnor. One thing you need to be aware of is the bumpy road after the turn from the main road, towards Dunnose Magna. The fact that the National Trust have failed to cut back the hedgerow is another slight issue, however, you simply need to drive carefully and slowly. Once down at the house itself you will be thrilled with all it has to offer. The owners Lawrence and Tracey are lovely people who are keen to ensure that everything is to your satisfaction and they even put all our Sainsbury's shopping away for us as our ferry was slightly delayed. We will definitely look to return to Dunnose Magna.

Very clean, super spacious, well located & so peaceful. Comfortable seating, excellent beds & linens, quality crockery, great internet speed, masses of storage, quick/efficient heating, gorgeous hamper on arrival & generally top-notch across the board. The only drawbacks were the very tight, rocky driveway on exiting the property which scratched our wheel. This beautiful house is ideal for families, but not quite equipped for family-sized cars. We also had an issue with lack of hot water in the ground floor en suite shower which our elderly parents were using. However, the housekeeper was very quick to respond & offered to bring in a plumber to look at it. It would have been amazing if the TV upstairs was connected for broadcast rather than just gaming, as it was a lovely space to sit & just chill out. Totally recommended if you want everything for a relaxing stay in one place.

An amazing stay at Hill Farm cottage and we throughly recommend to those with or without dogs.
As seasoned holiday cottage stayers with two dogs, one of which is nervous we have stayed in some amazing cottages and this is certainly one of them. If your looking for a traditional old farm cottage with rustic charm, set in a great location from which to explore island from then you âll find it hard to beat for the value. The cottage was clean, well equipped and had nice touches with fresh flowers and a nice bottle of bubbly on arrival. We had a lovely greeting from the owner who was very attentive and helpful with some good insights into Island life. We would thoroughly recommend the restaurant, The Hut at Colwell Bay just down the road. Watch the sunset whilst gobbling down some amazing food and wine and best of all they allow the dogs in as well. Have fun.

Stunning property but let down by the access track The property was stunning and had everything we wanted, it was spacious, well equipped, very clean and extremely comfortable.
The only downside to this wonderful property was the single track road leading to it. The whole length of the approximately half mile track had extremely deep and numerous pot-holes which we simply couldn't avoid. There was also an excess of rocks and loose flint with sharp edges. As a result, we could only drive extremely slowly along the track to minimise the danger to our cars and tyres. So appalling was the road surface we did not want to go out in the evening and have to drive along it again, especially with it being unlit. In our opinion you really need a 4 x 4 vehicle to drive to and from this lovely property. It was certainly not suitable for our standard vehicles.
