What our customers say about their holidays

We had a fabulous stay at the Well house to celebrate our wedding anniversary. Our hosts were great and set the property up with relaxing music, candles and all the little touches that made it feel welcoming and romantic, as well as getting the hot tub (and chiminea and wood-burning stove inside) ready for us on arrival. The property itself was full of features – a beautifully created place. The hamper provided was excellent and we loved the lighting in the property allowing everything from romantic to bright and functional. We especially loved the lighting in the well which is a beautiful feature. We had been given suggestions on eating out before we arrived and had booked at a variety of restaurants for the duration of our stay. We had dinner at Ascotts, ****’s Smokehouse, Fusos, lunch at the Queens head and breakfast at No 3. All were excellent. We took full advantage of being so close to the Tardebigge Locks and did a lot of walking. We also thoroughly enjoyed and made use of all the wood fired ‘devices’; the Swedish-style hot tub, the chiminea to extend our time outside and the stove inside when it was time to be indoors. Our fire lighting and fire tending skills have definitely improved! Our only suggestion, alongside remembering to bring your swimwear for the hot tub, is to bring footwear to get you from the house to the sauna – the gravel’s a bit sharp underfoot for bare feet.

It was a lovely property, very comfortable and inviting.

The facilities were great and had everything we could have needed, didn’t end up using half of the utility things we brought like cloths and cleaning sprays. The oven could have done with a clean as whoever used it last had some overspill that was baked to the bottom and burnt when we used it causing a lot of smoke, had to cook with the extractor on full and doors and windows open. Also the oven didn’t cook things fast and could do with a new one. The extra game facilities were very fun and well equipped, we would have liked some outdoor lighting as we visited during the winter months and getting to the other buildings we had to use torches to avoid tripping on the cobbles and manoeuvering cars in that dark was extremely difficult. Our main concern with this property would be the roads on approach as they were single lane and not in great condition, we took to going very slowly as some of the bumps and pot holes were causing our cars to bottom out if we were not careful and on the way back we did have a car die and are not sure if the brutal roads contributed to that however there issues were not the fault of the house just a little warning to others. In summary though we had a wonderful time and would consider visiting again.

As soon as Vicky and Stuart welcomed us to The Chapel cottage, they made us feel like family. It was fabulous and quirky, with a capital Q. The ambience captured in the cottage was sumptuous and relaxing and the wood burner made it very cosy. It was fun spotting all the different things on the walls, (faces, wall hangings, etc). The bathroom was particularly novel and the roll top bath was a treat. The garden areas were a pleasure to sit in and the hot tub kept us amused most evenings. We had an amazing time at The Chapel. It was in a lovely quiet location, but only a few minutes from all the amenities you could need. Walking along the canal tow path was a real pleasure and calling at the pubs along the way made it a real treat. The Ewe and Lamb serves fabulous food and has a great selection of beers and gins, as does The Queens Head. Thank you Vicky and Stuart for a fabulous holiday at The Chapel and all your hard work.

This is an outstanding rental property, although its location might cause the casual browser to overlook it. That would be a huge mistake! The property is part of a small rural estate where all 3 properties are renovated to a high standard by a couple who are very well qualified to deliver an attractive, very comfortable and unusual holiday venue. The owners are on-site, friendly and very helpful. As for the location, well, one may not think of Bromsgrove as a tourist hotspot, but it is ideally placed to visit Birmingham, Worcester, Stratford upon Avon and the Welsh borders. The local rail station is a 20 minute walk / 3 minute drive, with regular services to Birmingham, Worcester and beyond. The nearby canal has a superb canalside pub / restaurant and the longest flight of locks in England. Don't miss the opportunity to enjoy the Chapel or one of its sister properties.

First impressions when parking outside the cottage - it looks small.

.. but open the front door and it is like stepping inside the Tardis, all very spacious! Bright hallway leads through to the open plan kitchen diner and lounge. Kitchen is well equipped – freezer, fridge, dishwasher, washing machine, microwave, hob with double oven and grill - all full-sized appliances, no half measures, all the expected utensils secreted away in the drawers and plenty of cupboard space for storage. Comfy lounge sofa and two very grand wooden cushioned chairs, Android TV, with Wi-Fi access – connection to the matrix works well throughout the cottage. Two spacious double bedrooms upstairs and downstairs with good selection of comfy pillows and cushions. Large ensuite bathrooms – both bathrooms are equipped with Bluetooth mirrors that allow music to be played – real fun feature (I must get me one of these for home
