What our customers say about their holidays

We enjoyed the views and general environment of the house.
There was lots of space for the children to run around in and in the games room there was a computer console that provided amusement to both the kids and adults. Tom was very approachable about the kids joining in feeding the goats, sheep and Lama in the nearby field. In our view the property needed some TLC & small presentation improvements for what we paid to stay there for 2 weeks. Examples of this were: - ensuring cleanliness (vacuum under furniture & under sofa cushions), removing the really strong urine smell on carpet in the upstairs bathroom, cleaning windows in the lounge to enjoy the views (we did this), refresh appliances in the utility (freezer seal broken & therefore lots of ice & w/m not getting up to temperature), some mattresses needed replacing (way too soft) plus bed frame in the master bedroom is supported by an ad hoc wooden structure, windows & doors need attention to ensure they close / lock, basics like hand soap could be provided in each washroom along with hooks to hang up towels, provide bedside lamps in each bedroom along with extension leads to nearest plug sockets, curtains / blinds that fit and close properly / fully, providing a clothes horse inside or clothes line outside, reviewing the games / toys available to the kids (whilst we appreciated these there were old batteries and dead wasps amongst the lego). On the mid-Saturday a guy who we assume was doing maintenance took a short cut through the cottages' garden to the garden next door many times - and apologised each time - why not just stop doing it? The communal bins always seemed to be overflowing even a day after they were emptied. The provision of recycling bins would probably be a good addition.

The property was set in a beautiful location in the village of Stipperstone, with a short walk to the pub and community shop.
The pub was really friendly and the food was good and reasonable price. Lovely walking area too. The house was perfect for our family stay, plenty of rooms to chill out, including a games area. Bedrooms were of ample room which were set out in 2 areas. Large kitchen which was great, but appeared quite unclean in areas, this included the microwave, cutlery draw and also some cooking bowls/tins. Some basic tools were not available such as scissors and oven trays, also only one dishwasher tablet. Bathrooms were fine but only 4 toilet rolls were left for 9 of us for a weekend. Further areas had left over wrapping, sweet wrappers down the settee and in draws. Just one other point, the area is very dark and on arrival (after 4 on a winter evening), there were no outside lights on, so bearing in mind we had a elderly parent it would have been nice to have the light on. On our departure (Sunday morning) the gardener arrived at 9.30am, so we felt very pressured to ensure a prompt departure, even though we would have vacated anyway. On the whole we had a lovely weekend.

We had a fantastic holiday.
We had a great chat with the owners before we arrived to ensure the set up would accomodate our group. When we arrived we had a lovely welcome basket, which went down a treat after a long drive. All requests we had for the owners were allowed/fulfilled and it made our stay really enjoyable. The space is amazing. We had 4 children ranging from 2-8 and the garden was safe, secure and meant they didnt get bored. I did think the quiet location would mean we would have to entertain them, but the grounds, local walks etc were great. The kitchen is really well stocked. I brought the kitchen utensils I cant live without but there was no need there was everything. We did a family murder mystery night in the kitchen and it was brill as it was such a sociable area. Nice to walk around the village a short drive away, chipshop and tesco within driving distance (10 mins) and also in a location we could get a good shop delivered for our arrival date. It was just fab and hope to return soon.

Our big extended family (including 4 children of various ages) have just had a lovely week at The Chestnuts, which was enjoyed by all.
The farmhouse has beautiful views and a lovely garden and is surrounded by superb countryside. The owner (Michelle) and her son were very helpful and friendly and left us a great welcome pack, which was unexpected and very thoughtful. We had a few issues, which Michelle sorted out very promptly (the main one being it had only 12 beds and not the 13 advertised). Additionally, there were a few cons: the kitchen chairs were all in various stages of falling apart (one actually did fall to pieces while someone was sitting on it); also the window frames really need attention (the window to the bedroom over the kitchen, though closed, let so much rain in that it soaked the headboard inside the room). We left a note to this effect for the caretakers, in the hopes that they will warn the owners â as if something isnât done soon they risk losing the window frames and damage to the rooms. A wonderful property, just needing some TLC!

We have just returned from a fabulous week at Dingle Cottage.
Everything was as described but the garden space was amazing. We had brought our own sun chairs and blankets as there are only the picnic benches to sit on outside. We were blessed with the weather and spent most of our time lazing in the garden with the occasional dip in the hot tub. As the cottage is in a very rural area there are quite a lot of flies around. The shop in the village sells the sticky strips that you hang up and these are very effective! There are numerous walks from the cottage and many more in the surrounding area - I would recommend getting an OS map for the area on your phone. Our dogs loved it here, the whole garden is very well fenced off and they loved the steam running down one side which meant they could go for a paddle when they wanted to. We ate out twice at the Nags Head in Pontesbury - it isnât dog friendly but there are lots of tables outside and the food is lovely.
