  Three generations of my family stayed at Grace Cottage over New Year and it was just perfect. Every need was catered for, from the very well-stocked kitchen (no scrabbling around for plates or having to wash up cups as soon as you'd used them!), lovely bedrooms, bathrooms and living areas, to the family room loaded with games, the study loaded with books and the utility room that was very useful for de-sanding our little dog after a romp on the beach! The owner has taken a lot of effort to provide plenty of soft furnishings and finishing touches to make this property really feel like a home-from-home. Indeed, having left our own homes shortly after Christmas for our stay, it was a wonderful surprise to find Grace Cottage beautifully decorated with a big wreath on the front door and tasteful and thoughtful Christmas decorations throughout, including a tree with mock presents underneath. We certainly did not miss out on any homely Christmas vibes! The property is in a peaceful street with a lovely big garden, offering very nice breakfast views (as well as a brilliant outdoor space to enjoy, weather permitting). The hot tub was great fun, particularly at night under the stars with the disco lights going :) My parents are in their 70s and my nieces under 10, yet this property satisfied all of their needs and wants. We would go back to Grace Cottage in a heartbeat.

  The cottage was great but let down so badly with the cleanliness.

  We had to clean on arrival before starting our break which we shouldn’t have to do. The main living room smelt of dogs/urine and black hairs all over the floors and sofas. We had to empty the hoover as it was so full it wouldn’t suck up which wasn’t pleasant. The sofas smelt and were dirty. The blankets left under the table were dirty and full of dog hairs.The top right grill was thick with grease so when we used it it would smoke and smelt so we couldn’t use it. The dishwasher filter was thick with grease so we had to clean that also. The washing up bowl was greasy so we cleaned that. While hoovering the sofa in the snug room we found a dirty hairy sock behind the cushions. Chocolate bar and empty wrapper found in one of the bedrooms. The en suite fan didn’t work and the mattress springs have gone on one side. We understand it is dog friendly which is great but it needed so much more of a clean especially as it is dog friendly and dog hair everywhere is not nice. Once we cleaned the cottage ourselves it was great. We loved the hot tub and views and the cottage was beautiful just let down by the cleanliness unfortunately

  We’ve had a great family week celebrating a 65th anniversary. Our family aged from 3 to 90 and everyone had fun. The house is extremely well equipped and everything is easy to access and use. A few more big saucepans would have been helpful when cooking for 9. The house is spotless and the rooms are big. TVs in every room. Children love the garden, the little house and all the games and toys. The dogs love the secure garden. The fabulous external dining area, garden furniture and hot tub are a bonus. The garden is extremely private despite being in an estate. The driveway is big and our 4 cars fitted easily. The beach is only a 10 minute walk and the pub on the way back is a welcoming place. We had a great week and I can recommend this house as a super inter generational family venue. The upstairs bathroom is huge and our granddaughter thought the bath was a swimming pool.

  All round the cottage is pretty much all you could want or expect from a holiday let in the country.

  Spotlessly clean, welcoming owners, great broadband connection (a real highlight given how rare it is) well equipped and well laid out. Nothing but praise overall. On a personal level we thought the bedrooms needed more storage options, in addition to the single steel hanger rail in each room. The water pressure was very low in the ground floor shower which made it unusable, but with two others no big deal. The property would benefit from an outdoor dog wash to prevent having to use the inside facilities, especially given the wonderful location to so many great beaches near by. Overall this property and owner deserve the 5 star rating as we thoroughly enjoyed everything offered and the owners hard work is evident in the quality of everything included.
