  Fantastic break, East Calvert House is exactly as described, spacious, clean, comfortable and well equipped. Everything you need has been thought of to a high standard, including fire safety , nothing spared. You can just bring yourself, relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. Loved sitting on the front patio taking in the beautiful views, had lovely walks with our dogs alongside the roaming sheep right from the doorstep. Enjoyed great food at the local friendly pub, the Kings Head, explored nearby Richmond, Castle and museums. The first journey to the cottage was a bit daunting up the track but easy once we had done it once. As our old car was up to the challenge we also enjoyed a meal at the highest pub in the British isles The Tan Hill Inn ,less than 30 minutes drive . Wish we had had more time to explore so much more the area had to offer. I highly recommend using Original Cottages, great communication & instructions.

  We had a very comfortable and enjoyable week staying in the cottage! The owner was so welcoming and helpful with local tips and had kindly left a bag of goodies for us! There is plenty of space. Everything had been thought of that you could possibly need- eg loads of equipment in the kitchen- and plenty of storage in the bedrooms. Beds very comfy. It was also lovely and warm when we arrived, and it is well heated. Plus we enjoyed the novelty of lighting a cosy fire every night! We would definitely recommend Foss Garth cottage. There is a pub and shop across the road, and we recommend Hawes as a pretty town with plenty of little shops and cafes, a ten minute drive. Strongly recommend the Wendsleydale Creamery if you like cheese, we bought several varieties which were reasonably priced and delicious. Lots and lots of great walks nearby and the dramatic waterfalls in nearby Keld. Thank you to Pauline for a lovely stay.

  I'll get the gripe out the way first.

  The check-in and departure time is the meanest I've ever seen out of the 50+ places we been to over the years. We were especially disgruntled at the 9am departure time -although we knew this before we booked so it didn't put us off booking this fantastic place but may do others. Ok so now that's over we just wanted to say wow, wow, wow! Heugh barn is amazing, so clean and probably the of the best equiped UK stays we have been in. Everything was clear in the guide book too and that log burner is out of this world. We had the most wonderful, memorable New Year in the barn, toasting the new year in with the log fire roaring away. The barn is an a remote location, away from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The bed was soooooo comfortable!

  We had a wonderful stay at Foss Garth Cottage. It was in a delightful location with a beautiful view. It was lovely to hear the sound of the river and waterfall outside. The Cottage was extremely comfortable. It was well equipped with everything that we needed, and we were surprised with a nice package of freebies when we arrived. The beds were so comfortable, the bedding was lovely and clean and soft. It was great to have the TV with freesat for the evenings. The communication regarding accessing the property was excellent. Thank you so much. We had a lovely week and are only sorry that we had to go home.

  The Cottage was beautiful. Incredibly well equipped, in such a gorgeous and tranquil location. The beds were all well appreciated by our aching bones (we completed quite a few decent walks, mixed with local coffee and cake of course!). This comfort combined with very quiet nights make for a rather wonderful deep sleep. The sound of the nearby river simply added to the ambience of the Cottage. There is a nearby pub - literally across the street - but our personal preference was the Farmers Arms in Muker. Around a 20 minute stroll away, with great food and a fabulous atmosphere.
