Guests consistently praise Squirrel's Nest for its tranquil setting, friendly owners, and excellent facilities, including a much-appreciated hot tub. The lodge's location is ideal for exploring the area, with local amenities and attractions nearby. While some minor maintenance and cleanliness issues are noted, the overall experience is highly regarded, offering a relaxing and enjoyable stay.
Most guests found the lodge to be clean and well-presented, though a few mentioned minor issues with windows, cobwebs, and dust. These comments suggest room for improvement, but do not detract significantly from the overall positive impressions.
The lodge is celebrated for its beautiful and peaceful location, convenient proximity to local pubs, Rutland water, and supermarkets. However, some guests noted the presence of a nearby train line, which may affect the tranquillity for light sleepers.
Guests enjoyed the comfort provided by the lodge, including the hot tub and cosy fire pit. Some concerns were raised about mattress quality and restful sleep due to the nearby train tracks.
The lodge is well-furnished with modern amenities and a hot tub that guests loved. Some feedback suggests a need for additional kitchen storage, wardrobe space, and completion of advertised features like wild swimming. Maintenance of windows and the addition of blinds were also suggested.
