About this property
This eco-friendly, wooden-clad lodge is nestled within the tranquil grounds of the Barnsdale Lodge Hotel, near the Rutland town of Oakham. Enveloped by rolling countryside, with access to the Rutland Water Nature Reserve and the surrounding areas of Nottinghamshire and Leicestershire, you have the ideal base for a family holiday. There is a spacious open-plan living room with a fully-fitted kitchen, dining area and cosy lounge area enjoying the added warmth from the woodburner. The two bedrooms boast en-suite facilities for your convenience and outside is a sunny patio with a barbecue and furniture. Try the locally-sourced produce at the on-site restaurant, or simply enjoy a thirst-quenching beverage at the bar after a day exploring the region. Exton is a village set in the East Midlands county of Rutland. The Fox and Hounds public house overlooks the tree-planted green, offering cosy winter evenings around the fireplace and lazy summer days out in the beer garden. Oakham is the nearest town, boasting a combination of stone and thatched buildings, a range of shops, along with pubs, bars and eateries to choose from. The Rutland Water Nature Reserve offers watersports, a small water adventure park, birdwatching, a sailing club and fishing opportunities.
