Thrill seekers will love the high ropes course. For lakeside strolls, a picnic, a wild swim or a paddle Crummock Water is 5 miles down the road. The pub in the village serves good food and real ales, the shop sells locally sourced food for your basics and there is a tea room. The Georgian town of Cockermouth is 5 miles away and has a variety of independent and antique shops, cafés and restaurants. Outdoor enthusiasts will love Whinlatter Forest Park, 3.5 miles away, for its array of mountain biking tracks, café and high ropes course with zip wires.
