Guests say

Guests generally appreciate the cottage's cosy atmosphere, excellent location, and well-equipped kitchen. The new bathroom and shower receive special praise, and the proximity to local amenities and walks is a highlight. Some guests mention issues with the sofa bed and lighting, but these are outweighed by the positive experiences.

Guests that stayed at this property said

The cottage is frequently described as clean, with a particularly well-kept kitchen. One mention of a smelly laundry room slightly impacts the score, but overall, the property maintains high standards of cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its convenience to local pubs, shops, and scenic walks. Its proximity to Keswick and the peaceful village setting contribute to a near-perfect score.

The comfort of the cottage is well-regarded, especially the large and comfortable bed. However, multiple mentions of an uncomfortable sofa bed and issues with lighting detract from the overall comfort score.

Facilities like the well-equipped kitchen and smart TV are appreciated, but several reviews cite maintenance issues such as a broken bed, dripping tap, and outdated information pack. These indicate a need for attention to facilities and maintenance.

While guests mention a warm welcome and a responsive owner, there are no specific references to gifts or special thoughtful touches in the reviews provided. Therefore, a score cannot be given for thoughtfulness, and guests should not expect gifts as part of their stay.

Cottage was accurately described - sofa bed needs a thicker mattress as the current one is too thin - main bed also needs a new mattress as you can feel the springs on the current one - apart from that we enjoyed our stay and it is a lovely cottage - we would stay again in this lovely village if the improvements were made as suggested

The cottage well equipped, clean and cosy. The bed and sofa bed very comfortable. Location perfect for stunning mountain hikes from the door, with a small village shop over the bridge. The Royal Oak pub, highly recommended for food, a minutes walk away. A 5 min walk to The Coledale Inn, with a stunning beer garden to sit in. The village of Braithwaite is picture perfect, a 10 drive away from Keswick. We would love to return one day, thank you for an amazing stay.
