Go sailing, paddleboarding, or cruising at sunset on Derwent Water (0.5 miles); Newlands Adventure Centre (2 miles) will guide you on your way. Explore the market town of Keswick (1.5 miles), with its shops and eateries, museums, cinema and Theatre by the Lake. Grab hiking boots and take on the Coledale Horseshoe (3.5 miles), the Catbells (3 miles), or the mighty Skiddaw (6 miles). Discover Lingholm Kitchen and Walled Garden which inspired Mr McGregor s Garden in Beatrix Potter s stories. Zip from the treetops at Whinlatter Forest, and discover the mystical site of Castlerigg Stone Circle (3.5 miles). This romantic cottage is adorned with rambling wisteria. Inside, you ll find spacious contemporary country style interiors with large picture windows and glass French doors creating a light airy feel. After a hike on the fells, settle into cosy seating in the living room and warm hands by the toasty wood burner (first basket of logs included between October and March). Create delicious home cooked feasts in the well equipped kitchen, which features an electric fan oven, gas hob, fridge, freezer, microwave, dishwasher, and a handy washing machine. Gather in the dining room and make plans for daily adventures in Cumbria. There s ample space for everyone to gather and socialise or to find a favourite corner to catch up on a good book. The living and dining room can be separated by French doors, and the kitchen has a breakfast bar for morning coffees or to chat about favourite recipe. There s also a convenient ground floor WC. Head upstairs to find three cosy bedrooms on the first floor: a double with an ornamental fireplace, a twin with country views from the Juliet balcony, and a bunk bedroom (with full size beds); plus a spacious family bathroom with a shower and WC. Separate stairs lead to the second floor where there s a double bedroom with sloping ceiling areas, a skylight offering views of Skiddaw and Latrigg, and an en suite shower room with a shower and WC. Outside, you ll find large decked areas wrapped around both levels of the property with garden furniture on the lower deck. There s a rockery garden, and off road parking for two cars by a garage. You ll find a pub with food less than half a mile away and shops close by (1.5 miles). Short breaks only available November to March; 3 nights from Friday or 4 nights from Monday.
