The cottage is close to a fabulous array of art galleries, restaurants and pubs, with the historic Alhambra Cinema just across the road. Keswick boasts a wealth of attractions including the Theatre by the Lake, the Derwent Pencil Museum, Puzzling Place and Keswick Adventure Centre. The northern edge of Derwentwater is just half a mile away, offering opportunities for canoeing, boat trips and peaceful lakeside strolls. More experienced walkers can attempt the fells and mountains of Latrigg (2.5 miles), Blencathra (7 miles) and Skiddaw (6.5 miles). Other attractions include the ancient Castlerigg Stone Circle (2 miles), Bassenthwaite Lake (5 miles) and Honister Slate Mine (8.5 miles), with Buttermere (10.5 miles) and Crummock Water (11 miles) just a little further afield.
