Guests say

Low Melbecks House in Keswick offers a cosy and well-equipped stay with beautiful surroundings and a peaceful atmosphere. Guests appreciate the upgraded bathroom, comfortable furnishings, and the addition of a pool table. The property's remote location provides a quiet holiday experience, with some guests noting it as a favourite and others finding it too secluded. Maintenance issues are mentioned, but the overall sentiment is positive with many looking forward to returning.

The property is generally described as clean and well-maintained, with fresh bedding and towels provided weekly. However, there were isolated incidents of a used tissue found and a comment on flies due to nearby sheep fields, slightly affecting the score.

The location is praised for its quietness, idyllic surroundings, and proximity to walks and Keswick. However, some guests found the remoteness less convenient, and accessibility was an issue for guests with mobility concerns.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with cosy features like a wood burner and a well-appointed kitchen. The beds were noted as a bit hard by one guest, and the bathroom amenities were a concern for some, slightly impacting the comfort score.

The facilities, including a shared games room and well-equipped kitchen, are appreciated. However, recurring maintenance issues such as a broken towel rail, a leaking shower, and unreliable internet connectivity have led to a lower score in this category.

While the reviews reflect a thoughtful selection of games, books, and DVDs, there is no mention of gifts or welcome packs being provided consistently, so it is not possible to score this category. Guests should note that such amenities are not guaranteed.

The house is spacious, and even though there were 8 of us, and a baby) We all felt

There were 4 adults and 2 children staying so plenty of space. The house was spotless on arrival and well maintained. Nothing really to complain about. Odd issues such as lack of a cutlery drawer in the large kitchen was a bit strange and the shower in the bathroom downstairs was super hot, altering the temperature control made no difference. However, nothing that would take away giving it top marks.

Perfect location if you want some peace and quiet but close enough to Keswick for dinner/shopping etc. Walks on your doorstep and everything you could need and more in the home. Shame we had to strip the beds and take bins to end of lane - takes the 'holiday' feel from the trip but not a big issue.
