Brush up on local history at the Honister Slate Mines and the charming Keswick Museum, while those feeling active can pop on their walking boots and climb the summit of one of the surrounding fells, including Cat Bells, Coledale Horseshoe, Skiddaw and Blencathra. Be sure to visit the popular hubs of Ambleside and Bowness-on-Windermere, home to The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction, as well as Lake Windermere, and Ullswater to see the awe-inspiring Aira Force Waterfall.
