Guests say

Underheron is a well-received holiday cottage in Grasmere, praised for its comfort, location, and wildlife encounters. Guests appreciate the property's spaciousness, modern refurbishments, and the warmth provided by underfloor heating. The surrounding nature and proximity to local amenities add to the charm, although some minor maintenance issues are noted.

The majority of guests found Underheron to be very clean and tidy. However, a few guests mentioned isolated incidents of cleanliness lapses, such as a bowl with dried food and a stained sheet, which slightly impacts the overall cleanliness score.

The location of Underheron is highly praised for its proximity to Grasmere village, local pubs, and walking routes. The presence of wildlife and the natural setting contribute to the high score, with only minor comments about the surrounding trees limiting sunlight.

Guests consistently mention the comfort of the beds and the warmth of the house, with underfloor heating being a highlight. The spaciousness and the quality of the bathrooms add to the comfort level, although a few guests noted issues with showers and heating efficiency.

The facilities at Underheron are generally well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and comfortable entertaining spaces. However, the score reflects concerns over maintenance issues such as leaks, a faulty door lock, and the absence of a bath, which some guests expected.

While some guests mentioned receiving a welcome pack and gifts such as Prosecco and a treat at a local deli, these instances are not consistent across all reviews. As such, it cannot be confirmed that such thoughtfulness is a standard practice for all stays, and the score is set to null.

The cottage was very comfortable and has plenty of space for our party of eight. It is in excellent condition and extremely clean and tidy, the bathrooms are very nice and the heating worked very well. We would have no hesitation in recommending it to anybody who is looking to stay in the area.

It is an easy walk into grasmere and the swan pub or travellers rest and also surrounding walks without getting in the car.

With the bedroom being split between ground and first floor, it gave both families an opportunity to be separated but have use of the whole living spaces. Added bonus of seeing the red squirrels on the wall too.
