Church View is a spacious cottage in Broughton-in-Furness, appreciated for its comfortable furnishings, generous welcome pack, and friendly host. The property boasts a large garden and ample parking, situated in a village with good amenities and pubs. While some guests mentioned traffic noise and a need for maintenance, the overall experience was positive, with many willing to return.
The cottage received mixed feedback on cleanliness. Some guests found it comfortable and in good condition, while others noted areas that had been overlooked and a need for a deeper clean. The presence of dog odours on sofas was mentioned, suggesting room for improvement.
The location is generally praised for its proximity to local amenities and attractions, with a friendly village atmosphere. However, several reviews cited traffic noise as a downside, which impacted the score. The scenic views and village charm were highlights for many visitors.
Guests found the property to be spacious and the beds and sofas comfortable, although some noted that certain mattresses and sofas could be updated. The garden was appreciated for its size, but concerns were raised about its security for dogs.
Facilities were generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and ample space. However, maintenance issues such as hard-to-close doors, a mouldy shower curtain, and the need for more secure fencing in the garden affected the score. Parking was ample but the entrance was noted to be narrow.
The host's thoughtfulness was frequently commended, with mentions of a welcome pack including essentials and treats. Guests appreciated the local information provided and the host's responsiveness. It should be noted that such gifts, while appreciated, may not be guaranteed for every stay.

We found certain things in the kitchen needed cleaning before they could be use, oven trays, frying pan etc and some need replacing. Bath waste doesn't flow away. Heating needs setting up, it came on in the middle of the first night. Other than that good house economically priced.

Plenty of space. Lovely village location and we visited both the pubs which were really welcoming. Our only niggles were minor but the pillows definitely need upgrading and maybe some summer duvets. The garden is a lovely space but just felt it would have been great to have some chairs rather than just the wooden garden benches. We were definitely made to feel welcome and a nice touch with a yummy cake, milk and butter. We would definitely book again.

We had an issue with the heating but the owner resolved it very quickly and was really helpful throughout our stay there. We ate at the local pub (Kings Head) and the food was great. There is a good choice of shops in the village too.
