It is well-known locally as a starting place for exploring the neighbouring fells and the Duddon Valley, as well as a fantastic base for exploring the nearby towns of Hawkshead, Ambleside, and Windermere. It was one of Wordsworth's favourite hangouts. Locally, Coniston Old Man, Wetherlam, and the magnificent woodland paths at Grizedale Forest offer excellent walking, mountain biking, climbing, and watersports options. Discover Tarn Hows, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the nation, take a leisurely ride on the lovely Gondola steam yacht, visit Hawkshead, an award-winning community with a magnificent Beatrix Potter Gallery, or indulge in some tranquil fishing on Esthwaite Water. A top-notch holiday destination any time of year.

Quality linens, furniture etc which gives a luxury feel to the property. The Wilsons Arms and the Torver Deli are very handy. And walks from the front door on Torver Common are excellent too.

Location is perfect for accessing from the south, and for exploring the surrounding area. (And being able to access Coniston Old Man directly from the house was the icing on the cake, such a beautiful walk.) Plenty of parking space. Downstairs rooms are good size, with huge comfortable sofas, and well equipped modern kitchen. Plenty of space for boots and for hanging coats. Bedrooms all very comfortable and spacious. Would definitely stay here again if we return to the Coniston area.
