If you’re looking for a holiday home that combines comfortable living with panoramic views over the majestic South Lakeland Fells, this modern, two bedroom 'upside-down' terraced property, set above the traditional Lakeland town of Ambleside, could be just the holiday home for you. Fellcroft is close to the town centre but in a quiet residential area, away from its everyday bustle. Take a short downhill walk to the town and relax with your favourite drink and a bite to eat in one of its excellent restaurants, cafes and pubs or go to Rothay Park to admire the dramatic views and picnic by the river. Venture further to Waterhead, which is a fifteen-minute level walk from the town centre and enjoy a cruise on beautiful Lake Windermere or hire your own boat to explore its secluded bays. You are in the perfect spot to drive to all the main lakes, towns, villages and attractions within the Lake District. Head out on foot to experience some of the very best walking trails the National Park has to offer. And all right from your doorstep. Park the car in one of your two private spaces, go to the rear of the property and climb the stairs to the deck on the first floor. Walk through the spacious hallway into your bright and open sitting room with dining area. You are sure to be drawn to the large picture window, where you will find stunning views over the town to the Fairfield Horseshoe and beyond. After your journey, relax with a drink on the comfortable leather suite and start to plan your next day’s activities. Later, cook a delicious meal in the modern fitted kitchen. Unwind in your comfortable, first-floor double bedroom with king sized bed then, after a good night’s sleep, open the curtains to stunning countryside scenery. On this floor you will find a handy shower room with large shower. Move down to the ground floor to find a comfortable twin bedroom and handy games room with an additional dining table. Eat outside on the scenic rear patio. You will also find a family bathroom on the ground floor.
Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and numerous shops, restaurants and pubs in the village to suit all tastes. On the lakeside at Waterhead, the parkland offers lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach, whilst a walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre.

The views through the windows were fantastic . The property is central for most walks and we walked the local area of Loughrigg and Rydal without using the car which saved the excessive parking fees . I would not hesitate to book this place again ,it certainly added to our holiday enjoyment . Regards J .R . Mountford .
