Enter into this charming, stone-built cottage, discovering a characterful open-plan living space, where guests can recline and enjoy a movie marathon, cook hearty meals, and enjoy a romantic meal for two. Outside, make the most of the sunshine in the small patio area, ideal for enjoying a tipple. The bedroom welcomes you to catch your rest, whilst the bathroom is ready to refresh you. The centre of this historic village of Ambleside is a short walk away, as is magnificent Lake Windermere, with its myriad of water sports and cruises. Here you will find a great selection of eateries, shops, Ambleside Roman Fort, a golf course where you can try out a game or two, and walks to Stock Ghyll Force. Watersports can be enjoyed in abundance, and there are many more incredible walks to be enjoyed throughout the Lake District National Park, including the Old Man of Coniston, and Scafel Pike. Close to spectacular scenery in the heart of the Lake District, Two Tweenways makes an ideal romantic retreat.

Lying at the northern tip of Lake Windermere, England’s largest lake, Ambleside with its numerous shops makes a superb base for touring the central Lakes, with Grasmere and the Langdale Valley just a short drive away. There is plenty to do here - cruises, boat trips, and watersports on Lake Windermere itself and the lakeside at Waterhead with parkland offering lovely views down the lake and a short stretch of beach. A walk in the other direction, following Stock Ghyll through woodland, will bring you to the entrancing waterfall of Stock Ghyll Force. Along with the Lake and the great walking on offer, Ambleside is also famous for its annual rushbearing ceremony and the diminutive 17th century “Bridge House” - one of the most photographed buildings in the Lake District and now the National Trust Information Centre. Ambleside has plenty of restaurants and pubs to suit all tastes from great fish & chips to its two Michelin Star restaurants and all tastes in between are catered for.

    The location was perfect, just a very short walk into Ambleside. The off street parking was a bonus although we used the bus and boat rather than the car. The property is very spacious for 2 people with a large kitchen and bathroom.

    Parking space is great. 5 minutes walk to town centre . Did not move car all week. Brilliant bus service which covered surrounding area. Only downside to house was settee which is long past it's sell by date

    With everything that you would need, including a proper freezer and a dishwasher. Well presented and spacious - unusual for a cottage for two or in my case one! It's nice to have room to swing a cat - not that I'd swing a cat - I don't have a cat, and anyway pets aren't allowed! But seriously it is one of the best properties that I have stayed in years.
