Penrith, historically the capital of Cumbria, is located between the Lake District, Westmoorland Dales, and North Pennines. Penrith's sandstone buildings hide charming cottages, gardens, and stores in their yards, roads, and alleyways. Penrith has superb pubs, hotels, restaurants, and entertainment, with a museum and Millennium Trails through its ancient districts. Rheged is a visitor centre containing shops, cafés, exhibitions, and a big movie screen showing instructional films.
