Mell View Cottage sleeps four to six people across one double and one twin bedroom, with a sofa bed available for an additional charge, which makes the beautiful, well-equipped home, the perfect base for a family or a couple, looking to relax and explore the beautiful countryside. Gleaming wooden floors and furnishings add to the rural charm of the cottage, while a modern, airy kitchen with clean and simple lines makes family catering a pleasure. Situated in a rural location one mile from Matterdale, on the coast to coast cycle route, located mid way between Keswick and Penrith, 2 miles north of Lake Ullswater. For those who enjoy an active lifestyle there are Little Mell Fell, Great Mell Fell and Gowbarrow Fell circumscribing the village and numerous watersports are available from nearby Lake Ullswater. Matterdale is in an area of outstanding beauty with magnificent fell views, there is a bar and village shop and the villages of Dockray and Dacre are both within a 5 minute drive with village pubs serving excellent bar meals.

The cottage is superbly presented and the location is ideal. The facilities in the cottage are of a very high standard. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and are sure to be back.
