Guests generally appreciate the cottage's character, cleanliness, and quiet location, ideal for exploring Norfolk. The comfortable furnishings and well-equipped kitchen are noted, alongside a welcoming atmosphere enhanced by thoughtful touches like fresh flowers and a welcome pack. Some maintenance issues are mentioned, but they don't overshadow the positive experiences.
The property is frequently described as very clean and tidy, with several guests highlighting its cleanliness. However, a few mentions of a garden in need of attention and a suggestion for a deep clean prevent a perfect score.
The location is highly praised for its tranquillity and proximity to local attractions, including a pub and Oxburgh Hall. Its suitability as a base for exploring Norfolk contributes to a high score.
Comfort is consistently noted, with guests finding the beds and sofas cosy. The warm and homely feel of the cottage is appreciated, although some comments about inadequate heating and the need for TLC slightly affect the score.
Facilities like the well-stocked kitchen and laundry are well-received, but several reviews mention issues with blinds, heaters, and light switches. The need for minor repairs and clearer instructions for appliance use suggests room for improvement.
Guests often mention thoughtful gestures such as fresh flowers, a welcome pack, and provisions upon arrival. While these are appreciated, it is important to note that such personal touches, although common, are not guaranteed for every stay.
This pretty, end-terrace cottage is adjacent to the village green, in the sleepy village of Oxborough. It makes a wonderful little holiday home for families and friends exploring the Norfolk countryside and has lots of charm and character! When you get back from a day exploring the local area, the warm, inviting sitting room, with its charming, traditional furnishings and woodburning stove, is a great place to kick back and relax. The country-style kitchen is compact and has a Belfast sink. In the adjacent room is the dining table where you can plan tomorrow's adventure over dinner. French doors open into an enclosed garden at the back of the property with twin patios, a small lawn and shrubbery. In the summer, it makes a really relaxing, tranquil spot to enjoy a morning, or lunch and dinner outside. When you don’t feel like cooking, head to The Bedingfeld Arms, the cosy village inn just a five-minute walk away. Visit the National Trust’s Oxborough Hall, a 15th century, moated manor house, and take a look round its glorious gardens. The surrounding countryside is perfect for cycling and walking, with numerous nearby footpaths and trails available along The Brecks, a beautiful area of forestry and heathland with lots of designated picnic spots. Thetford Forest is fab for a day out with the family; cycle or walk through this pretty pine forest, try out the many adventure pursuits on offer, or brave the Go Ape activity centre! There are many historic market towns nearby including Swaffham, with its Georgian buildings, independent shops, tea rooms, pubs and a vibrant Saturday market. With the coast and several renowned RSPB reserves less than an hour’s drive away, this lovely little holiday cottage is perfect for a break exploring this beautiful region.

We felt extremely fortunate to have stumbled upon this little gem. It's well equipped for all your needs on holiday, with enough kitchen equipment to rustle up a decent meal on the days that the local gastropub isn't open (Mondays and Tuesdays are their days off). Close enough to interesting towns and the north Norfolk coast to give us a really lovely break. Thanks.
