Throstle cottage is a historic Georgian cottage built around 1750 in the conservation area of the pretty village of Lesbury. Sleeping 2, it is spacious and comfortable, with lots of original features and a wonderful wood-burning stove in an original sandstone inglenook fireplace. One well-behaved dog is welcome. Free Wi-Fi.

One of our most popular cottages, Throstle Cottage near Alnwick has been renovated to an impeccable standard and provides a luxurious bolt-hole for two for any time of the year. Awarded 4 Stars with a prestigious Gold Award by VisitEngland, Throstle Cottage is cosy and comfortable, it has lots of original features and is situated in the picture-postcard pretty village of Lesbury.
You can walk to the beach at Alnmouth alongside the winding River Aln from Throstle Cottage too in about 20 minutes. At Alnmouth there is a range of restaurants, gift shops, great dog-friendly pubs (The Red Lion has an amazing beer garden) and a renowned art gallery The Old School Gallery.

This is a great cottage in a superb location for our third visit to Northumberland. We have worn out our 3 year old black Labrador by enjoying all the walks from the front door. We were very happy to support The Coach Inn and village shop regularly, what asset’s to the village! Alnmouth is delightful after a short walk and coffee from Scott’s Deli is delicious. Thank you for a smashing holiday!

Having made many trips to Northumberland we found Throstle Cottage last year. We found the cottage comfortable and homely. Knowing that if the weather turns on you that you can return to a fire is always encouraging!

Our third stay at this cottage and it is as welcoming as ever. It’s an added addition that the pub next door has re-opened. The weather was pretty good for late Feb. The property was very cosy and our time went by too quickly.
