Granary Stone House is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its stunning location, cleanliness, and comfortable accommodation. The on-site swimming pool is a highlight, alongside the property's proximity to the beach and local attractions. Guests appreciate the spaciousness and the amenities provided, making it suitable for large groups and families.
The majority of guests found the property to be very clean, with only a few isolated comments about areas that could have been better attended to. The positive remarks about cleanliness in the living areas and the provision of clean beach towels suggest a high standard maintained by the owners.
The location is highly praised for its stunning views and proximity to the beach and local sights. The scenic walks and quiet setting are frequently mentioned as highlights, contributing to a very positive experience for guests.
Guests generally found the accommodation to be extremely comfortable, with ample space and facilities for large groups. Some guests mentioned the beds could be improved, and there were minor issues with bathroom fixtures, but overall, the comfort level was high.
Facilities such as the swimming pool, play area, and pool table are well-received. However, there were comments about the need for better maintenance of some appliances and suggestions for additional kitchen equipment. The swimming pool's booking system also received mixed feedback.
Guests noted the provision of toiletries, beach towels, and a welcome gift, which added a thoughtful touch to their stay. However, it is politely noted that such gifts are not guaranteed and may vary. Some guests suggested that a more consistent approach to welcoming guests would enhance the experience.

The village of Embleton can be traced back to beyond medieval times and during the Wars of the Roses, it suffered much from the ravages of Scottish invaders. Today, ancient castles and ruins stand testament to Embleton's turbulent past; the Church of Holy Trinity is a late-Norman church, dating from the 12th century, later to be restored in Victorian times. Viewed from the sea, the undulating whinstone ridge that shelters much of the village from east winds, resembles a caterpillar, hence the old name 'Emeldune', meaning the hill of the caterpillar. The rolling countryside means that golfers can enjoy a good 18-hole links golf course that overlooks the beautiful Embleton Bay. Recently launched is the Embleton Heritage Trails Project, consisting of six trails, ranging from a short walk around the village, to a longer six mile route, following the spectacular coastline and inland into the tranquil countryside.

We have been taking large group family holidays for the last 10yrs and this is one of the best holiday homes we have found. Accommodation is well maintained and spacious housing 12 people comfortably. The downstairs facilities are accessible and ideal for an elderly less mobile member of our party. The owners have thought of everything from a welcome gift of basic supplies to toiletries in the bathrooms and beach towels for all. The pool and changing facilities are excellent and a big hit for the children. The location is perfect for exploring the coastal beaches of Northumberland, and handy for supplies in Alnwick. If you are staying in the area Embers pizzas are a must try and we had an excellent Sunday lunch at Adam & Eve in Alnwick.

Access to the swimming pool was the icing on the cake (although you do have to be quick to book your slots). I would highly recommend.
