Guests say

Hillcrest in Seahouses is a well-regarded cottage, praised for its cleanliness, central location, and comfort. Guests appreciate the proximity to local amenities and the coast, as well as the property's cosy and well-maintained interior. While some minor maintenance issues are noted, the overall experience is positive, with many guests planning to return.

The majority of guests found Hillcrest to be very clean, contributing to a pleasant stay. A few isolated comments mentioned issues such as overgrown grass and rubbish outside, but these seem to be exceptions rather than the rule.

The cottage's central location in Seahouses is highly valued by guests for its convenience to shops, restaurants, and the coast. Some guests mentioned parking challenges during busy times, but the provided permit is generally appreciated.

Guests frequently describe their stay as comfortable, with special mentions of cosy beds and a warm atmosphere. A few guests noted issues with mattresses and seating, but overall, the comfort level is rated highly.

The facilities at Hillcrest are generally well-received, with a well-equipped kitchen and secure garden for pets. However, points were deducted for recurring maintenance issues such as a dripping tap, problematic doors, and a broken shower head.

There is insufficient information in the reviews to assess the level of thoughtfulness in terms of gifts or special touches provided by the hosts. Therefore, this category cannot be scored.

Lovely house in an Ideal location with plenty on the doorstep. The house was perfect for us and two dogs. Loved the enclosed garden. Would recommend staying here. A couple of very minor things which definitely wouldn't put me off were only half a toilet roll between us for the entire stay and half a kitchen roll, no spares left so had to buy own. All of the candles and tealights need replacing as no wax in them. Look forward to returning.

The house is in perfect location as you can walk to all the restaurants, pubs, shops, and harbour. It’s a bit of a walk to the beach so anyone with children we’d suggest you drive to the sand dunes (on the main road towards Bamburgh) and walk through to the beach. It’s free to park too! The house was clean and comfortable and we really enjoyed our stay. Our only negative, the house next door is being renovated so every morning unfortunately we got woken up to LOUD banging (literally on the dot at 8am!) The banging continued throughout the day on/off. We appreciate building works go on, just wish we had been warned in advance. Just to make people aware, staying here in future, it’s best to unload at the back of the house (once you’ve picked up the keys and permit for the car) from the front. The house is situated literally on a roundabout so not ideal to unload at the front, especially with children.

Very close to local amenities with a very good supermarket and butchers just across the road. Hillcrest was bigger than we thought when looking at it online. Parking was so easy as a massive car park at the back of the cottage. All free when displaying the permit. Beds were very comfortable and a great shower with plenty of hot water all the time. A big thank you to the owner for making our first visit to this wonderful part of UK. We will definitely be returning as so much more to see.
