The property is commended for its perfect country location, close to beautiful countryside and lovely towns, with some guests enjoying nearby walks and parks.

Guests find the house to be comfortable, with spacious rooms, super comfortable beds, and a cosy atmosphere, especially noted during the colder months.

The property boasts an exceptionally well-equipped kitchen, ample dining space, and a variety of entertainment options like board games and DVDs. However, a minor issue with shower pressure when using multiple showers simultaneously is noted.

About this property

Sedgefield 2.7 miles. Resting on the edge of the market town of Sedgefield, in the village of Foxton, County Durham, lies this lovely holiday home, North Farm. Perfect for friends and families alike, this property is conveniently located between two national parks and an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and is home to plenty of home comforts and gorgeous woodland views. Inside, make use of a fully-equipped kitchen, where you can whip up delicious meals for the whole group to be savoured at the dining table before settling down in the sitting room, where a woodburning stove takes centre stage, to enjoy a film or two on the Smart TV. When the evening draws to a close, retire to one of five well-presented bedrooms, all of which invite guests to drift off to a night's refreshing embrace. If you can tear yourself from your charming base, be sure to stop into Sedgefield, where a lovely cup of tea awaits you at the Number Four, or perhaps book a table at The Herd & Herb Restaurant if you fancy a break from cooking one evening. Darlington is a short drive away, home to the beautiful Rockwell Local Nature Reserve and Drinkfield Marsh Nature Reserve, as well as South Park, a location hosting regular live performances throughout the year. Middlesbrough is accessible by car, brimming with tourist attractions such as Albert Park, the Middlesbrough Docks, and the Dorman Museum, which has a plethora of both permanent and rotating exhibits. Slightly further afield you can find the cathedral city of Durham, home to the eponymous Durham Cathedral and historic Durham Castle, the gorgeous grounds of the Old Durham Gardens and the Botanic Garden, as well as the stunning National Trust landmark location of Crook Hall Gardens. Bring your friends and family to enjoy an unforgettable stay in County Durham by booking North Farm.

In the English county of Durham, this mediaeval town is located close to the north of Stockton-on-Tees. Although it has a number of sporting facilities, such as a cricket, squash, and golf club, it is best known for its racetrack, which has a welcoming reputation and a laid-back ambiance. There are several activities happening all year round, including race meetings that date all the way back to 1846. You may have a great time out with the family at its restaurant, bistro, and bars. Although Stockton-on-Tees is a market town, it still contains many of its original yards. The most intriguing of these is Green Dragon Yard, which is home to Britain's oldest remaining Georgian Theatre as well as recording studios and two modern shopping centres. Rowing, canoeing, dragon boat racing, and leisurely strolls along the Tees Walkway are just a few of the watersports available on the town's River Tees, which can be reached by the Millennium Footbridge. The largest climbing adventure course of its sort in the UK, Air Trail is a great place to spend the day with the kids. There is plenty for everyone to enjoy, spread out across four levels with tight ropes, swinging stepping stones, and balancing beams dangling high above the River Tees. Middlesbrough has a thriving nightlife, a wide variety of dining, drinking, and shopping options, as well as a number of attractions that are well worth a trip, such as the Captain Cook Birthplace Museum, the Dorman Museum, the Institute of Modern Art, and Stewart Park, a 120-acre park with lakes and woodlands. Preston Park Museum and Grounds, Hardwick Hall Country Park, and Ormesbury Hall, owned by the National Trust, are more nearby sights that are well visiting. In this beautiful region of England, you can take any kind of vacation you choose.

All the fittings and furnishings were good quality and the house had a very luxurious feel. The welcome cake and cava were very much appreciated, we couldn’t have 2 showers going at the same time due to pressure, but loads of hot water. It was cold when we visited in November and the house was very warm and cosy. Would have no hesitation in staying in the house again.

There was lots of games, DVDs and books available for entertainment. The beds were very comfortable and the log burner was very much appreciated.

3 generations of my family recently stayed here and North Farm had everything we needed to enjoy our holiday. The kitchen was very well stocked with everything you might need. The dining room table was huge, comfortably seated 9 of us, and there was an ample stack of board games to play. The living room seated us all in comfort, without the need for anyone to sit on the floor! It was, all in all, a wonderful place to stay.
