Approximately 3 miles from Tarporley and 12 miles southeast of Chester is the community of Bunbury, which is located at the western border of the Cheshire Plain. Although little is known about its history before the Norman conquest, it is generally agreed that the name is Saxon in origin. It is also believed that the current parish church's location was the location of a Christian place of worship well before 1066. Early accounts of the village refer to it as Bunan byrig, the Buna stronghold. Today's village is home to a supermarket, three pubs and the stunning St Boniface Church, which is registered as a Grade I listed building on England's National Heritage List. The well-known market town of Nantwich is eight miles away. It hosts regular markets every week and a monthly farmer's market that features the best local produce. There are also numerous events held there throughout the year, such as the Jazz and Blues Music Festival at Easter and the renowned Cheese Awards in July. The mediaeval, walled city of Chester is located farther away and is home to a variety of independent stores and warm restaurants that can satisfy any appetite. From Bunbury, create memories in the North West.

The main living room area is upstairs with plenty of room for a large family. The house is situated on a farm although totally private from all. Large garden outside which is fenced off perfect for our little dogs. Pubs and local co up ten minutes away by car.

The heating was on and the place was well equipped with wonderful views all around. We even saw the Arrora iout to the north in the dark sky. Just a few nigglesâ¦. Some beds did not have mattress covers on !!!!! Bath mats would have been useful both in and outside of the baths and a note about where to place the garbage when they were full.

However, some things are begining to look a bit tired, and in need of updating. The oven was dirty on arrival and looked like it hadn't been cleaned for a long time, so it was unusable. The kitchen sink and hob were also dirty, which we had to clean before we could use them. A deep clean is needed in all the shower rooms, grouting, sealant, showerheads and toilets are all stained. The bed linen is looking tired and well used and needs updating. The garden is a good size and dog friendly, but not dog proof, one of the resident dogs came in under the gate and attacked and bit our dog, which unnerved him for the rest of our stay. A curtain or privacy screen is needed on the back door, especially as a bathroom is opposite it. No outside bins for rubbish were provided or for recycling, (we took our recycling home with us).
