A lovely Grade II listed, stone-built detached farmhouse, on the side of Mallerstang Fell with breathtaking views of the Eden Valley, just seven miles from the village of Ravenstonedale and ten miles from Hawes. Set on a commanding position in a wild and rugged location, this is the ideal opportunity to get away from it all and enjoy splendid isolation. This lovely holiday home is perfect for family and friends to share a true back to nature experience with wonderful scenery and wildlife in abundance. First constructed in the 1800s, this charming farmhouse oozes character and charm, with individual styling and antique furniture throughout. The kitchen boasts low beams, stone walls and a window seat to enjoy the views, whilst the adjoining summer room has patio doors leading out to the garden. Also the original pantry is just the ticket for storing provisions and keeping beer and wine at a cool temperature. The sitting room has a mix of old and new furniture and the open fire provides a great focal point to the room, an ideal place to sit, relax and enjoy a warm drink on a cool evening. The three bedrooms all boast wonderful views of the fells, and there’s a small bathroom and a ground floor cloakroom too. With access to 100 square miles of open fell, nearby footpaths lead you to stunning, hidden waterfalls, tiny becks and amazing limestone pavements. Also the Yorkshire Dales and Lake District National Parks are waiting to be discovered and offer a number of interesting places to visit. Amazing views and a rural location both combine to ensure that guests will always have fond memories of this very special place and will want to return, time and time again.

Ravenstonedale is a tranquil village situated at the foot of the Howgill Fells, between the Lake District and Yorkshire Dales National Parks. The village offers traditional old dwellings, a charming parish church and the remains of the old Gilbertine Priory, along with an annual agricultural show.

    I think the outside of the property could do with a bit more maintenance as the window views were blocked by the climbing plant . And maybe if some of the garden trees and bushes were trimmed there would be better views of the hills in front . Also there should be a large supply of logs and coal we usually have to bring our own supply’s , most other cottages have large amounts to use . Apart from that we love the place

    It was really perfect in our eyes! We often look to the tv program 'Escape tot country' and it was an experience like that! And the surroundings: so beautiful and quiet! We made many walks and were every time again astonished by the landscape, the farms, the stone walls, the sheep... We enjoyed everything and every moment; a real escape to the country for two onforgettable weeks!
