Standlow is on the edge of the Peak District National Park within walking distance from the Red Lion pub in Kniveton and only three miles from Ashbourne. It is perfect for walking, cycling and discovering favourite attractions including Chatsworth House and Alton Towers. The owners have transformed the lovely stone buildings into six stylish self-catering holiday homes which sleep from 4 to 17 guests and which can be booked together to accommodate large groups of up to 52 people. Each cottage is furnished to a high standard with guests having a private garden as well as shared access to the wider grounds and a fun games room.

Foxglove Cottage is one of five gorgeous properties at Standlow Farm on the edge of the Peak District National Park in the beautiful Derbyshire Dales. The owners have created a welcoming space for everyone from couples to groups of up to 52 people. Guests can enjoy spending time together in these wonderfully peaceful surroundings with far reaching views and plenty of space both indoors and out. Foxglove (with hot tub!) is perfect for large and extended families as it has space for 8/10 people in four bedrooms (8 adults or 10 guests with the use of a sofa bed in the living room) and is within walking distance of the friendly Red Lion pub in Kniveton and just a mile from Carsington Water.

Kniveton is a pretty village with a lovely church at its centre. The historic market town of Ashbourne is only three miles away so visitors to Foxglove Cottage can drive, walk or even cycle to pick up provisions, enjoy a relaxing lunch or browse the shops and stalls at the weekly market. Ashbourne has over 200 listed buildings, and a stroll along the winding streets will see you peering into windows and walking past doorways that have welcomed guests for centuries. Kniveton is also near to Belper, Wirksworth, and Matlock, while Bakewell is easily accessible for a day's shopping and sightseeing.

Guests who enjoy being outdoors and active will love Standlow as there is so much to do in the area. The Tissington Trail is the perfect place to start as it provides 13 miles of traffic-free path that can be used by walkers, cyclists and horses. You can follow it all the way from Ashbourne to Parsley Hay where it meets the High Peak Trail at Cromford Canal, giving even more miles of beautiful county scenery. Rock climbing and abseiling are popular, and kids love the high ropes course at Buxton Tree Top Adventures. The views underground are as stunning as those above when you visit Blue John Cavern and Poole Cavern, both of which are perfect all-weather activities.

The Dovedale Valley is a fantastic year-round destination for all ages and interests. Foxglove Cottage can be rented on its own or together with one or more of the other properties at Standlow so you should certainly consider it if you are searching for the ideal location for a special celebration or a get-together with family and friends from around the country.

Accommodation Comprises:

Foxglove Cottage is beautifully furnished to offer a high standard of accommodation over two levels. It is on a quiet lane with the main passing traffic being the odd tractor from the neighbouring farm.

Guests at Standlow have shared use of a fantastic games room with activities for all ages, including a snooker table, table football, air hockey and table tennis. There is also a shared laundry room.

Outside: Foxglove Cottage has a terrace at the front with a low wall and garden furniture, and a large fenced lawn area at the rear with a climbing frame, swings, a barbecue and a table and chairs. It also has its own hot tub for relaxing at the end of the day. Private parking is next to the cottage. The views are fantastic, stretching down the valley to the village, and across fields and farmland.

Additional Information: All utilities, WiFi, sheets and towels are included with the hire of Foxglove Cottage. Short breaks are possible all year round with a 2 night minimum over the weekend and just 1 night during the week. Flexible changeover days with the exception of a Sunday. Smoking is not permitted. Dogs welcome at an additional charge of £30 per pet. Pricing based on 8 guests, with the 9th and 10th guests at an additional cost of £100 each. Travel cot and high chair available by prior arrangement.

Group Bookings: All six holiday homes at Standlow can be rented together to accommodate large groups of up to 52. For multi-property rentals The Barn can dine groups of up to 28 seated, but has enough space for buffet style catering for 52 guests due to its open-plan layout on the ground floor. Hen and Stag parties welcome. Local outside caterers can be recommended by the owner, as can a good variety of external entertainment providers offering a wide range of services from a DJ to a Murder Mystery evening, or a Distilled Event for gin and whisky lovers, to SpeakEasy Bars for those who prefer cocktails. Standlow is a great venue for getting together, socialising and celebrating!
