Guests say

White Sand is a well-received holiday cottage in Sandown, praised for its spaciousness, cleanliness, and proximity to the beach. Guests appreciate the well-equipped kitchen, comfortable beds, and family-friendly amenities. Some minor issues were noted regarding lounge seating and maintenance, but overall, the property offers a pleasant stay with a garden and convenient parking.

The property is generally described as clean, with one mention of sand on the floors upon arrival. The kitchen is highlighted as super clean, suggesting a high standard of cleanliness in at least part of the property.

The location is highly regarded due to its short walking distance to the beach and proximity to local amenities. Parking is also considered excellent, adding to the convenience of the location.

Comfort is well-rated, with mentions of comfortable beds and sofas. However, there are comments about insufficient lounge seating for the number of guests the property can accommodate, which affects the comfort score.

Facilities are generally good, with a well-stocked kitchen and ample space. However, there are several mentions of maintenance issues such as a non-working TV (which was fixed), pressure problems with the shower, and a broken window hinge. These issues suggest room for improvement in facilities and maintenance.

Guests mention thoughtful touches like a starter pack for the dishwasher and washing machine, as well as tea and coffee on arrival. While these gifts are appreciated, it should be noted that such amenities are subject to change and may not be guaranteed for every stay.

    Some very squeaky floor boards.

The kitchen is an especially great feature - great facilities, well stocked with all the equipment you could need, super clean, and so spacious! Really appreciated this with some small children running around. Also enjoyed the garden which is a big space, too. The simple layout of astro and decking was again, brilliant for children. The bathroom layout is a bit unusual with separate rooms for a bath, shower and toilet upstairs. We got used to going in and out of each one with the children quickly, so not a problem - just an FYI for future visitors. Facilities in each one are great. It is also quite a long house. Great in terms of space for a big group, but worth being aware there are a few steps into the dining room and laundry room for any future guests with mobility issues. I contacted the owners to let them know about a few issues with the cot and highchair, and they replied immediately which was much appreciated. The house was tidy and generally clean when we arrived. Some sand on some floors upstairs, but nothing that bothered us. Parking is excellent, with space for 2 cars off-road at the back of the property. On street parking at the front is also possible.

Only a couple of snags. As an elderly lady with a knee replacement I found the steps inside the property quite difficult. Insufficient seating in the lounge as there was 8 of us. Bedrooms could do with a bit more furniture. There was nowhere to put things down. But these were only little niggles and overall we found the house fitted our needs perfectly
