Guests say

Flushing Meadow is a well-loved holiday cottage with a new kitchen and bathroom, praised for its comfortable furnishings and outstanding garden. Its location offers stunning views and is ideal for dog owners and nature enthusiasts. Guests appreciate the thoughtful welcome pack, though its contents may vary.

The property generally maintains good cleanliness, with soft towels and clean bedding. However, one review mentioned it was not as clean as in previous stays, suggesting a slight inconsistency.

The cottage's location is highly praised for its quietness, proximity to beaches, and beautiful views, making it a favourite for return visits.

The property is considered comfortable, with cosy sofas and a large garden. Some guests noted the bed size could be larger and the property was cold, but heaters are provided.

Recent upgrades to the kitchen and bathroom have been well-received, but some facilities like the log burner were not usable, and there were issues with the shower and a damp smell in the kitchen.

Guests were delighted by the welcome pack, which included cream tea, biscuits, and milk, although it should be noted that such gifts are subject to change and not guaranteed.

I wanted it to be wonderful and whilst the location and garden were fabulous- the house was not to the standard we’ve had with other properties of the same cost. There was a hole in the roof of the one bedroom, tiles off the toilet in the downstairs loo, spiders everywhere (phobia of mine), a doormat that was in pieces. The windows that should have given a fabulous view were also in need of a good clean. The outdoor furniture had bird poo and stuff from the roof that had fallen over it. There were no suitable cleaning products so I had to make do. I do think the property was cleaner when we left! There were mysteriously two kitchen tea towels soaked hanging out of the kitchen window when we arrived. I have pictures should you need them. As I said, this was our first holiday after the cancer diagnosis and treatment so cleanliness was a concern, but I wanted it to be relaxing for my husband so starting by cleaning garden furniture was not a great start to the holiday. That said the location is incredible but we don’t feel we had value for money with this property I’m afraid.

Early mornings are full of the song of Blackcap and Whitethroat Warblers. A complete joy. The new Kitchen is a huge improvement and we used it much more than in previous years. We love the view down the valley and across the sea towards Falmouth. The large garden hides all sorts of interesting plants. Pretty decent Gunnera draws the eye and gives one the taste for exploration. Frustrating that we cannot currently book it for the same time next year

New Separate wet room( shower), new bathroom and kitchen upgrades are an improvement . We love the area and house for its quiet location . We found the house not as clean as found on previous stays ( Kate the original cleaner who worked for the previous owners did a very good job), Still a lovely house and location so will be back again Russell
