Guests say

Still Waters is a beautifully renovated cottage in St. Austell, Cornwall, praised for its cleanliness, luxurious feel, and proximity to the beach. Guests have enjoyed the well-equipped facilities, including an air fryer and smart TV, and appreciated the thoughtful touches like a welcome hamper. While some minor suggestions for improvement were noted, the overall sentiment is highly positive, with many looking forward to returning.

The property is consistently described as immaculate and spotlessly clean, indicating a high standard of cleanliness that guests appreciate.

The cottage's location is highly praised for being close to the beach and local amenities, as well as being a convenient base for visiting nearby attractions like the Eden Project.

Guests find the cottage comfortable, with luxurious touches and a homely feel. The roll top bath was a highlight, although one review mentioned challenging stairs for those with mobility issues.

The property is well-equipped with modern facilities, though there are suggestions for an extractor fan in the kitchen and better lighting in the sitting room for reading.

The presence of a welcome hamper and other amenities suggests a high level of thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not guaranteed for every stay, this score reflects the positive mentions without setting an expectation.

The village shop and pub draw visitors from far and wide, while the beach is good for children and a favourite with water sport enthusiasts. Dogs are only permitted on the beach between the first Sunday in November and the end of February, but dog walkers can enjoy the stunning woodland of the Pentewan Valley Trail, along with other beaches a short drive away. The coastal path passes through the village and as it climbs up the cliffside towards Mevagissey, the views across the bay toward Devon in the far distance are breath-taking. The property was immaculate & finished & furnished to an incredibly high standard. There are lots of lovely touches such as the landline phone so you can receive calls, the welcome hamper & the minibar. The cottage is in a beautiful location with the beach just around the corner & it is very handy to have parking out front. It really was a most comfortable home from home & we would highly recommend it. We certainly hope to be back.

A short walk to the beach and close proximity to a number of other places well worth visiting like the Eden Project and Lost Gardens of Heligan meant it was an ideal place to stay.

It felt like home. Very spacious and fresh. We took our dog. He enjoyed himself too. Our gramps lives in Glentowan Road and we have been frequent visitors to Pentewan for the last 10 years. We know many in the village. We will definitely stay here again and I've recommended it to our relatives for their family too. Everything had been thought of. Go and see for yourselves. Great value for money. Close to the beach, pub and local shop.
