Alternatively, pack up and head over the hill to the beach at North Hallsands.  The nearby villages of Beesands, South Pool, Stokenham and Chillington all boast superb pubs, and the town of Kingsbridge has all amenities, just twenty five minutes away. The historic town of Dartmouth can be reached along the coastal road and has a good selection of shops and galleries along with eateries. Popular Salcombe can be reached via the foot ferry from East Portlemouth or by road forty minutes away. The beautiful beaches of Slapton Sands,  Mill Bay and East Portlemouth are all just twenty minutes away, and keen walkers can enjoy a trip to Dartmoor.
