The Little Rose is a charming holiday home in the heart of Lyme Regis, Dorset. Beautifully renovated to preserve the original features of the building, built in the 1600’s, including wooden beams and panelling, fireplaces and exposed stonework; all while being an ideal family holiday home. Located right in the heart of town within 50 yards of the seafront, beaches, pubs and restaurants, the Little Rose has three floors and can accommodate up to eight guests in four bedrooms, making it ideal for a trip away with family or friends. You can park your car in the nearby public car park and then walk into the bright hallway, which leads to the kitchen/diner and spacious living room. You can take a well-earned rest on the plush blue sofas and watch a family favourite on the Smart TV before thinking about dinner. Sit down as a family and enjoy a hearty meal prepared in the kitchen, complete with a range-style electric oven and gas hob. A welcome pack for your arrival ensures a great start to your holiday and will include milk, tea and a selection of locally sourced produce and treats. Share your travel experiences over a glass of wine on the private gravelled patio before retiring to one of the four bedrooms. The first floor has a king-size bedroom with Smart TV and a fun twin room. There is a first floor bathroom, boasting a freestanding bath with shower over. There is also a separate WC on the first floor, while the second floor has two king-size bedrooms, one with en-suite shower facilities and Smart TV. There is a wealth of history and natural beauty in Lyme Regis, which is home to the UK's largest collection of dinosaur fossils, and is just a short walk away from the Little Rose. In addition, there is a Fossil Beach and a Marine Aquarium (where you can find fossils of ancient sea creatures embedded in the rocks) as well as The Pilot Boat and the Cobb Arms two of the town's best restaurants and pubs. Try your hand at fossil hunting in the area or take a stroll along the world-famous Cobb causeway, which overlooks the ancient harbour where fishing trips can be taken. Lyme Bay's gently shelving sands and sparkling waters make it an ideal place to relax and unwind after a long day of walking the scenic coastal path and taking in the stunning Jurassic coast views. It's a wonderful place to take a holiday!

It's priced appropriately and works well for our family (and small dog). However, I appreciate it's a tight turnover, but the property is in desperate need of a deep clean. I saw a previous comment that one of the blinds was broken and it had been mentioned numerous times, in which the agency responded that it had now been fixed - it hadn't. I emailed at the beginning of the week, notifying that in fact TWO blinds were broken, with no response. Can I suggest that when the blinds are eventually fixed, they're swapped out for blackout blinds too? It's gorgeous waking up to a sunny day - but not at 4.30am :)

The property is ideally situated within a stone's throw of the sea front and also to the centre of Lyme Regis with all of its shops, pubs and eateries. We had a really lovely week. The only complaints would be about a faulty blind in the second floor bedroom which had been mentioned in the guest comment book the previous month and of which the owner was already aware.
