Oak Cottage in Devon is a well-received holiday rental, praised for its cleanliness, cosy atmosphere, and beautiful location. Guests appreciate the comfortable main bedroom, the property's dog-friendly policy, and the proximity to local attractions and dining. The picturesque garden with views and the inclusion of thoughtful touches like Prosecco on arrival enhance the experience, although this gesture is not guaranteed for all stays.
The majority of guests found Oak Cottage to be immaculately clean, with only a few mentioning the need for attention to certain areas. The high standard of cleanliness contributes positively to the overall experience.
The cottage's location is highly praised for its proximity to local amenities, dining options, and scenic walks. Its position next to a pub is noted, with some guests mentioning noise but many finding it a convenient feature.
Comfort levels are generally high, especially in the master bedroom, though some guests noted the mattresses in smaller rooms were less comfortable for adults. The cosy atmosphere and wood burner are appreciated, but the lack of an extra toilet and some noise from the nearby pub are noted drawbacks.
Facilities are well-regarded, with a well-equipped kitchen and good quality appliances. However, intermittent Wi-Fi and the need for garden furniture updates have been mentioned. The single bathroom for the property size and the absence of a second toilet have also been highlighted.
While guests have mentioned thoughtful touches like Prosecco on arrival and festive decorations, these gestures are not consistently referenced across reviews to guarantee a score. It's important to note that such personal touches, while appreciated, may not be a standard offering for all stays.

Very comfortable. Beds really comfortable. Great location. The little garden looks onto the river which is really pretty. The pub next door does lovely food and are really friendly. The people that look after the property are really nice and helpful if you have any problems. .The only criticism I would give is that the garden furniture really is in need of a good paint or replaced. Doesn't look very nice to sit on. Also the side gate you enter to the cottage is really hard to open. Needs replacing. .

Really enjoyed our time at the cottage, one of the most comfortable places we have ever stayed at. The pub next door was very good all food and drinks reasonably priced Hope to visit again thank you

Excellent facilities and well equipped with modern utilities. Very comfortable beds and the rooms were cool as every day temperatures rose to around 24 degrees. As there was a green close by, the dogs relished their daily walk. We recommend taking the ferry to Cassandra and exploring Plymouth Barbican.
